Thank you. I probably self consciously said hopefully a lot because in my research it seems like everything is "hopefully" it'll work. People have done things they say not to and it works! So, who knows. Good to have an idea of things to do but I think every situation is unique 🤷‍♂️

Patti and I couldn't help but giggle through this😅Quite entertaining and helpful. Really. I liked how you consistently kept the list up as a reminder. The first time I saw a bear was on a backroad in Newcastle! You remember a few years back, PG&E shut off all power down to the lower foothills, so even in the evening, there were NO lights. Well, apparently it brought the bears down the hill when they wouldn't normally come down that far. It was HUGE! I was like, "what the????"

That's awesome you saw that big black bear! Even though black bears are said to be much smaller than grizzlies, I've seen videos where they look BIG!!! I've only seen them in the zoo and tracks in the wild. Hopefully it stays that way 🤯😵‍💫🤮. Cheers!! 🍻

Bringing bear spray is the best! The second best is to bring a friend that you can out run!! LOL Just kidding! My friend who lived up in north Manitoba said that no one walked any where during certain times of the year when polar bears are active. There was one year when there was even a number to call for someone to come and drive to your house to make sure it was safe for you to leave your door to enter your vehicle. Don't think I could live like that, but he was there for five years teaching in this isolated village.

Definitely bring a friend you can outrun 🤣. I didn't even mention polar bears because I've heard nothing works; your just screwed. I knew a guy that did work in Alaska. He said in the area they worked, it was mandatory to carry a rifle and never go anywhere alone. He said a bunch of times people would stray away from their partners and get mauled. Grizzlys and black bears can be handled, Polar Bears are terrifying! 🐻‍❄ . Cheers! 🐻

Bring a damn weapon just in case a bear decides to attack. A big hunter's knife at least, and a gun would be another safety precaution. No need to pretend like we have no means to fight bears, as if bear spray is our best weapon...we have plenty of modern weapons to choose from in this day and age.

I agree. Anything to protect yourself is good to have. They do say bear spray is the best. People with guns still get mauled without bear spray, BUT definitely bring any and all self-defense stuff. Thanks 🙌
