There was one joke that stuck with me in High on Life. And it was the construction worker family. The one part in the game where the annoying dialogue is intentional, getting you to try shooting the characters, only for it to work. It’s great. It was a vindicating moment in the game. lol. That and the “traffic jam” community. It was worth playing for free. A time killer. But oof the guns were quite annoying. Especially the knife. Strange how they made a whole DLC based off him. And this game has bullet hell stuff and good combat: interesting. More interesting that High on Life.

For being made by 3 people, it looks great all around. The lighting is pretty flat but they really nailed the guns. People never seem to understand how hard it can be to make satisfying shooting. You gotta get the sounds, enemy reactions, animations etc all down great so your shooting doesnt suck eggs. The guns look super satisfying to shoot here so props for that.

Based on the demo I would have said it's like High on Life but not funny. High on Life had some bad jokes (some of which, like the traffic jam, are meant to be background noise and not dwelled on) but Bears in Space felt like it was trying super hard and not landing a thing. "I get it. It ain't making me laugh but I get it." was my feeling with it. At least High on Life did land sometimes. Anyway the gameplay in the demo itself was fun so i'll probably pick it up one day.
