They are seen frequently from April through November. We are in a wooded, mountainous area, so we see them more often than some.

A couple decades ago they brought bears from the mountains to here in Central Va and so far i have been charged by two huge black bears. I have never seen black bears get this big. Both charges were right in my front yard. I wish they had not brought them here because there are a lot of communities and a lot of children playing in their yards.
