The win mattered more--in terms of team morale, development, confidence, mental health--than going up one spot in the draft. I'm normally on team tankjob, but I wanted this one for the players. Caleb especially deserved it, for all the work he's done in the 4th quarter. I don't normally make grand statements about this team, but this feels like the turning point. Spend a shitload of money in free agency on the O-line, draft some good players, hire the right HC, work on developing Caleb and this team will be special.

You got redemption for Cairo Santos, you got a W for Caleb after another clutch drive in the 4th quarter, you broke a 6-year streak of losses to Green Bay, you broke the curse of bad clock management (barely), you didn't throw the game away in the final minutes, etc. You saw the players postgame; they wanted this one.

Woot is a favorite former Bear, but disagree with him as a former player. Love started that game and had to go out due to the D getting to him. This was NOT a second-stringer game. They were competing with him and when he went out. They deserve FULL credit for competing and not laying down in that game.

The Oline has always been atrocious, even since Cutty days.... Mitch wasn't great but had no time in the pocket. Fields was better than Mitch, but still no time or PROTECTION. Caleb this year, absolutely no time or protection. THE OLINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM & NEVER DEALT WITH. The coaching, culture & winning haven't been the same since the Lovie Smith era or a taste in 2018 with Vic's monster defense... When Caleb throws more pass yards they tend to lose - NO $HIT - when he gets a ton of late game yards their HC fumbles the ball and loses the game for them. That’s why he got fired mid-season.
