The elephant in the room is that Justin Fields better flame out in Pittsburgh & Caleb Williams better be what they think he is in Chicago… otherwise this is a all time disaster
@williamblackfyre48666 ай бұрын
No one has a magic crystal ball. All you can do is make decisions based on the information available. Caleb might be the most highly touted prospect since Lawrence...and before that Newton, Luck, and Manning. For the past 3 years Chicago had subpar QB play. Maybe it's Fields fault, maybe its not but these are the facts. Getting a guy like Mahomes or Rodgers, or whoever they are projecting Caleb to be like as he matures is a FRANCHISE altering pick up. I dont think Fields is franchise altering even if he hits his ceiling. I dont think Poles can afford to NOT take a chance on Caleb. The risk/reward is just too good to pass up. So give him the weapons to succeed. If he flames out, that's fine. No one can really predict when a #1 1st round pick will bust but given all the information available, this is the correct move.

There is a reason roquan and any other talented player we had wanted out. I'm glad there doing this stuff now but they did that kid wrong not setting him up to succeed. Justin Fields never had any opportunity to properly develop with the weapons he had around him until last year when they finally got 1 capable WR in DJ Moore. The Bears finally this year decided to build off of the defenses success from the end of last year and really had a chance to keep building with Justin Fields but took the bait in Caleb Williams who had a much worse college career than Justin Fields did. The smart choice for the Bears was to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. with the first pick and the 9th pick go with the best Olineman. Justin held the ball a long time but really never had a decent Oline to protect him. I'm saying this as a wise Packers fan btw. The Bears really have no idea what they are doing.

Bears will be in for a rude awakening if they pick up Caleb Williams. I wouldn't have traded Fields if I'm honest after the moves they made. Fields showed improvement when he got a weapon in DJ Moore. Claypool was a huge disappointment the year before. Bringing in Allen with addition of the TE, only thing Bears needed was another LT, maybe a guard. So now they have to start over, Caleb is another Aaron Rodger's from what I've seen of him. In regards to Trey Lance, that guy didn't look like he had it, Field has it, just needed weapons and protection.

@beazy33646 ай бұрын
Another Rodgers, Im sure the Bears would love to have a 4x MVP and All Pro as their QB.
@hababacon6 ай бұрын
@sixpathssebas1568 It's not a good thing. Rodger's in his later years became disruptive to the Packer's organization. Soaked up the money while producing multiple 1 and done playoffs, or not making the Playoffs over the last 10 years. The year the Packers won the SB, the defense carried the team. Rodger's was just brilliant in the SB. Rodger's got coaches fired for plays he was changing. He tried to get the GM fired. He plays favoritism to certain players like a Nelson or Adam's which ultimately was a detriment to the team. He's trying to get political now which just comes off looking stupid most of the time. His arrogance tend to rub people the wrong way and is generally not liked by people not kissing his a$$. Rodger's is good, but in his later years, he's not been a difference maker except for when he played against the Bears and Cowboys.
@mrcanman206 ай бұрын
you’re dumb af & don’t know ball if you’d pick fields over caleb
@hababacon6 ай бұрын
@beazy3364 I'm sure the Bears would rather have Lombardi trophy's and not just someone with individuals awards. That's Rodger's problem, he's too into himself and thanks he's the greatest with 1 SB win, only 1 SB appearance. No leadership qualities, that's what separates Rodger's from Patrick MaHomes, Payton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Elway, ect. When the game is on the line in the Playoffs, you can't count on him.
