Beast Boy is hands down one of my favorite DC hero’s. Behind Batman and Green Lantern at least. His powers are by far the most desirable since not only can he turn into any animal on earth, but he can turn into prehistoric animals, extinct animals, alien creatures, demons, mythical creatures, and even creatures he made up. Why he limits himself to preexisting animals, I don’t know, but his hold of Genetic Manipulation makes him one of the strongest. Hypothetically his body works in a similar manner to the Omnitrix with the only difference being his skin will always be green.

I always loved BB as a hero. I can't really think of anyone with powers similar to his at the moment. He is usually limited by the nature of his power and what is considered an animal in most of his incarnations. In terms of combat, he is usually at a lack for granged options, though his versatility and movility can usually overcome that. He is also capped at certain maximums based on the creatures he can become, and it is uncertain if he can improve those limits. If constrained to just Earth's extant Fauna, BB would have a maximum output related to that, while some threats simply require much more than anything he would be able to produce. His limits in different media are often expanded, usually into at least extinct animals, but sometimes into Cryptids and Aliens. Due to these limitations, Beast Boy is usually forced into a creativevutility of his powers. In the 2003 series Cyborg has an episode where he tries to become more robot to increases processing power and producivity. He became overworked and nearly died. Garfield told him that he can transform into the most powerful creatures in the galaxy, but sometimed he needs to turn into a tiny snail. That always stuck with me.

It makes sense. This is why I always thought BB was one of the most powerful heroes. Dude can transform into anything, if he could he’d probably do some chimera transformations where he focus on certain abilities of animals and forming them all together.

It's nice to see a character in comics push themselves in a way that isn't forced or completely out of character for them (I'm looking at you Moon Knight being able to solo Thor, Dr. Strange, Iron-Fist, Ghost Rider, and Black Panther), this all makes sense with BBs powers and personality!
