Beast from the East - Wintery Snowy Afternoon at Leeds, ECML | 28/02/2018

Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. All the UK especially Leeds was cover up in the heaviest amount of snow from over a decade due to ‘The Beast from the East’ fast and cold winds blowing all the way from Russia, meaning services across the UK were being disrupted or cancelled. This was however a chance for me to film some trains at any station in the snow since all the others were in dry or rainy conditions. Here in Leeds, most of the rail services were running quite sound apart from CrossCountry which its services were being disrupted the most. This was filmed around 11:55am to 1:15pm and only one CrossCountry service came through. What made this day worthwhile was most of trains in the films were covered up in snow and ice at the front and rear bumpers, guard doors & highlights and even the wheelsets were covered up in snow and ice. After nearly 80 minutes of filming, I filmed more than enough and my hands were freezing, so I called it a day.
Trains include: Virgin Trains EC HST & 225 set, CrossCountry 221 Voyager, Transpennine Express 185’s, Northern 142’s/144’s/150’s/153’s/155/158’s/321 & 333’s and DB Cargo (EWS) 66

Looks like you got the snow really bad in Leeds, I didn't get a single flake of snow where I am, very cool seeing all the freezed over gangway doors or buffers, thoroughly enjoyed watching Matthew, keep up the good work and a like from me as always

Excellent scenes! Very enjoyable. Ireland was badly hit by the snow too. Still snowing now. Hope to get some shots once the trains start running again.

we will be lucky here in the UK if it can go to 30c in July, our summer, 30F is the temperature it was during most of that cold weather with a strong wind making it feel even colder, great video.
