As someone who "clicks" with this game and has a group that is like minded, it is amazing. Let me start to say what this game is not. It is not Fury of Dracula, Letters from Whitechapel or Sniper Elite. It has hidden movement elements and you can go 4, 5 or 6 movements hidden, but it is not PURE hidden movement or full deduction. Hunters don't always hunt the Beast...the Beast can hunt the Hunters! Every card you draft matters...cannot stress this enough. Doesn't help you draft only attacks and item gain cards when you can only take 2 steps! Your card choises should be methodical and you need to look into making moves during day 1 to set yourself up yo get contract rewards for night 2 and winning by day 4! This feels fantastic for what it offers! However I can fully understand if this type of gameplay is not your cup of tea then you will not enjoy it. Which is fine :) Your conclusion that this is very groupd dependent is so true! Great overview!

Excellent commentary! I stumbled upon a commentary and the person hated the expansion and the base game. I enjoyed the base game so ditched his rant early on!

It can work at two players. That would be with 1 player as the beast and the other player as two hunters. I think there has to be a minimum of two hunters in a match.

I have played a couple of times at two and did enjoy my time with it, but to me, this game shines at four. This is my favorite hidden movement game at four, with Mind MGMT being a close second.
