That happens when converting from DVD. Converting videos from DVD is a bit tricky. It's pretty tough work, and different DVDs convert different ways so sometimes you have to adjust and try different settings. There is a way I can get rid of those lines by using a different deinterlacing method but by doing so the quality goes down a bit. I'll do that with the next one to see how it turns out. I was wondering if or when someone was going to mention it lol.

Originally the writers did plan on it but decided not to because they couldn't find a way to keep them in the plot. I did some digging a while back. Besides they were adding other new characters like depth charge and rampage etc etc, so they wouldn't have time and resources for every single individual storyline for everyone
