Having grown up on Adam's music, and as a longtime sufferer of Lyme disease, who's looked to Kathleen for inspiration, I gotta say thanks for posting. She's right: Lyme disease is _"like being in the pit of hell"._ As a creative person, having your productivity taken from you is the worst thing in the world, along with the physical/mental/emotional grind of the illness. Sick men feel those same feelings of guilt and burden she talks about, and there are a lot of women who'll leave chronically sick men, believe me. It is incredibly hard to see a loved one suffer and many can't cope, or simply say "I didn't sign up for this." It's not for the weak.

Someone posted a school photo of her and I immediately said "I remember her!" - which doesn't happen all the time. I mean there were 350+ kids in our grade. I didn't get to know them all. We must have been in a class together or something. I remember her being cool and a nice person - that's all I remember. Anyway, someone posted this interview with her and Adam and what a treat that was! And MAN is it ever awesome to see so many people that Kathleen has affected in so many positive ways. Of course, I knew of Bikini Kill when they were big - everybody did back then - but the music wasn't really in my wheelhouse at the time and even if it was...even if I'd gone to a show...and, frankly, I may very well have seen them somewhere at some point and just don't remember...I don't know if I would have recognized her or not. If you don't think Dan Rather pushed or spun fake narratives or propaganda then you are sincerely naive. That stuff has been going on almost since the inception of the nightly news. You ever hear of Operation Mockingbird? Well there ya go and it was happening before it even had a secret cool CIA name. The TV has been by far the biggest weapon and tool used by the government and military and heavily by the deep state to brainwash and indoctrinate the masses. The US is by far the most indoctrinated and brainwashed society in the world and remains that way today. Not that most will admit this thus the success of the brainwashing cuz that was part of it. Getting people to seek out their own truths or answers or narrative was thought to be crazy or lunacy and to say that you thought your government was lying to you and not looking out for your best interest was akin and in many cases still is to blasphemous. It's just harder for them to hide this nowadays because of the internet and massive amounts of available information out there and other technology such as smart phones with their cameras and audio recording capabilities. So Dan Rather answered to those above him and reported on things that weren't on the straight and narrow or were even straight to begin with and knowingly did this. I guarantee he knowingly did it too. But that contract you signed that came with alot of money and a big spotlight and notoriety also came with alot of clauses that weren't very honorable, truthful, respectable, misleading and probably got alot of people killed, hospitalized, jailed or had many other negative effects in other ways because they believed the shit he was spinning. It had positive effects as well but it had negative ones that could have been 100% avoidable if he told the truth that his overlords or contract forbid him to do. He was just another tool in the toolbox or weapon in the arsenal of the evil overlords of this world. Sad but true.

Very typical to say she's "granny" or "too much" because she has gray hair and is opinionated. You couldn't handle a woman like this so move on. Kathleen is a fierce feminist woman and anyone that knows about her would know that's her passion. You don't have to agree with her politics but she has the right to say whatever the hell she wants. If you can't handle her speaking up for what she believes, maybe you shouldn't watch this interview. These two have been together for a long time and seems to really love and respect each other. I like all 3 ppl here. I took some jobs at sea, and then teaching abroad, and so have been outta the loop for decades. I went to extended university as a very later starter, too. (Crammed community college and a teaching cert and grad school all together) So, I haven’t seen American television or read Rolling Stone or Spin in a long time. I’m alright with aging: if we don’t pass on, we get older. That happens. That being said, this interview had me feelin’ I’d awoke into an alternate reality. There’s nothing wrong with this interview: there are all three respected ppl (sincerely respected by me), telling of their lives… something about time moving on someone else’s clock has rattled me: I’m rattled a bit from watching this-

fuck.. it feels like yesterday when we were at the schoolyard listening to the Beastie Tapes with a lot of Brew... And now..I´m sittin´here in my Cellar Home Studio with 48 and see my hero Adrock as an old man... just like me... Fuck aging... his Voice is still the same as in the 80´s.. DAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are sooo cool! (Genuine not sarcasm lol).. thank you both for being voices to gravitate towards in my youth. There aren’t enough thank you’s (now that may be my play on the New York accent haha). Great questions as well!

Part of the Beastie Boys journey is watching them transform into old New York Jewish men. RIP Yauch.

It’s really challenging to deal with Dan Rather, talking about culture he not only doesn’t understand, but that which he at one time ‘warned’ America of….
