Back when MTV was worth watching, I remember watching this live. Who would’ve thought then that the Beastie Boys would be so popular for so long?

Man facts, and artist actually performed live.
@mwara24443 жыл бұрын
Well they changed their image after this about 1990, they ended their 'frat boy party' homage, stopped the 80's objectifying women, which was just normal and natural at this time especially with Glam Rock being so popular. Girls in one piece swimsuits locked in cages dancing with ultra high spray can hair and caked on clown makeup. Look at all the big albums from those times when hair bands became ultra popular. The music did not objectify women but the music videos did. Lot of things have changed, except for women wearing caked on clown makeup, it seems that trend is never going away. It did for a while in the mid to late '90s.

I’m a year younger than all these guys and I remember being 20 years old watching this live on MTV channel 27 and laughing at how unbelievably hard these guys are partying here. It’s amazing when you grow up your 40s became into Buddhism family man cared about people in this January 1 87. He was a drunk and care nothing but drinking it is amazing how you grow and grow as you get older, look at this video and say was out of control but they were all barely 20 years old here. I think MCA was 21 but wow, these guys were out of control and now they’re all a year older than I am 58 years old I saw ad rock. He’s all gray got a family divorced my D divorced all gray , he’s I believe 58 un believable run and who would think three years. They did the right thing and leaving because it would’ve been ridiculous but they went into punk rock and Paul boutique legendary band Hall of Fame. They were not Hall of Fame.

@@remo2196 they had fun, for sure, they went from new york street kids to rockstars. but it’s obvious by the time paul’s boutique was out they were way over it all and the image they had accidentally cultivated. they were all punk kids and met punk shows they snuck into in NYC, trust me they were not actually into this kind of music. they made it mocking annoying frat boys but def jam produced it to market to those same frat boys and it worked. on PB they were allowed to make what they wanted but by then everyone already thought they were just drunk jackasses with no respect for music. i think that’s why PB flopped, they made music they were into and their audience, who liked that fake party boy thing they had going on in license to ill, just didn’t get it because it really wasn’t made for them. by the time the right people had found it, 10 years had already passed. Paul’s boutique is still a great album, but it was a commercial failure because of def jam, they really screwed the beastie boys over.
