This is damn near 30 years old and it’s still hilarious that House of Pain ever thought they were more real than the Beasties. How are those country rock albums selling these days?

The Beastie's were growing up. They weren't trashing hotel's like it's going out of style 6 years later. House of Pain at the age they are at there should have felt ashamed for acting like such trashy hooligans.

I'm so glad I was coming of age, during this time. I'm certain this interview ran on 'New Music'--an hour long program that featured 2-3 groups, and had interviews that were so much more 'real' then MTV's bullshit schlock. Even when they were being goofy, most artists appreciated the nuanced questions, and being allowed to speak without fear of being taken out of context. Sadly, MuchMusic went the way of MTV--that is, focusing on non-music related content. But for those of us who had access to this channel during that time, we were lucky.

Did much music become Fuse?
@APisceanSlant
@APisceanSlant 5 жыл бұрын
@@M540FELLA WOW...haven't thought about FUSE, in a long time. Such a 00's things, lol. So, on the one hand, you're right about MM turning into the Fuse Channel. However, it was initially a joint venture between MM Canada (the original parent company, which started in 1984) and MM USA (the joint venture between MM Can & Cablevision started in 1994). As I'm Canadian, I was referring to the initial channel--which essentially took most of the remaining music content, over to Fuse, in the early 00's. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_(TV_channel)

There was 2 reason why they did not continue on there punk musical path and those reasons names are Kate Schellenbach and John Berry who inspired them to be a four-piece hardcore punk band named the Young Aborigines after they both quit the remaining 3 guys changed the band name and turned to hiphop and had success with the song Cooky Puss.
