I had to share this video with a few of my family members! I was around 4 or 5 when this originally aired and my eldest brother was around 11 and getting into the Beastie boys and was watching this. Both my other brother who was 8 at the time and I started jumping around the living room like lunatics when the Beastie boys performed "Fight for your right " and I guess I thought I'd be cool and jump on our coffee table that had a busted leg and start dancing. Bad idea as the table broke sending me and whatever else was on the table crashing to the floor. Our mom heard it from the kitchen and yelled "What was that noise?" And without missing a beat my 8 year old brother yelled back "It's the Beastie boys!" Thankfully i wasn't hurt but our mom was pissed lol. It's one of the earliest memories of childhood I have and this is the first time i've seen this performance again since that night lol great memories. They were so young here!

Joan Rivers was a perfect host to interview these guys! Other TV hosts might have been a bit too formal, but as one of the first "shocking" comedians (see Howard Stern), she had the perfect mix of irreverence and playfulness.
