Rap-rock songs: You Gotta Fight For Your Right to Party, No Sleep 'till Brooklyn, So What'Cha Want Hiphop Songs: Paul Revere, Intergalactic, as well as pretty much anything of the album Paul's Boutique Yeah, they also play all the instruments and are co-producers for most of their albums (besides the last 2 they did where they were sole producers). Their first album came out in 1986 and was the first rap record to reach number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200, and the first rap record to go diamond (10 million album sales). It was co-produced with Rick Rubin and they were signed to Def Jam, but split with Rubin and Def Jam before recording their 2nd album. They helped to popularise rap/hiphop and bring it to a more mainstream audience, as well as bringing it to a more white audience as rap/hiphop was mostly seen as exclusively black music until then. They also started off as a hardcore punk band until about 1983, they got into hiphop as they were from NYC and decided to pursue a more predominantly hiphop style from then on.

Beastie Boys are trailblazers in hip-hop. Started off as punk rockers in the late 70s as teens. Became a rap group and found superstar success in '87 on the backs of Run DMC's success. Broke off from DefJam and destroyed the sample-game on their second album (Paul's Boutique). Switched it up playing their own instruments on their raw back to basics 3rd album (Check Your Head). This song is from their 4th album (Ill Communication) which is a natural evolution to the 3rd. Then they went back to the old school feel on their next couple albums and threw a jazz album in there for good measure. Enjoy this journey! RIP MCA

I saw Beastie Boys back in 1994 at Lollapalooza. That was an amazing show! They are hip hop/rock legends! No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Intergalactic, Paul Revere, So Whatcha Want.

A great balance of punk, classic hip hop fundamentals, and innovation.

They started as a punk band but then started to rap and mix the two genres. Very well respected rap trio and amazing musicians!!!

I’ve seen the beastie boys in 91, 94, and 95. They are amazing live, I got to skate with them outside the show in 91. They were a punk band from NYC and then flipped to hip hop, they are responsible for getting ll cool j signed, getting public enemy known by taking them out on tour in 86.

Saw them back in 88 an yes it DID NOT disappoint. Picking my favorite song from them is near impossible for me. You’re killing these reactions always a good time when you post. Keep crushing it.

You were talking about groups breaking down barriers in another video, Beastie Boys are one of those bands. Check out No Sleep Till Brooklyn and You Gotta Fight For Your Right both off their 1986 debut album

On May 23 1985 Beastie Boys opened for Madonna at Maple Leaf Gardens. I was there with my brand new black suede Pumas with fat blue laces. Four of us went, stoned out of our minds. Noone had ever seen anything like them or even heard of them. It was awesome 👌. Dear 80's, I miss you.

I saw the Beastie Boys live at Lollapalooza music fest in New Orleans back in 1994. It was phenomenal! It was like a hip hop show meets punk rock. Saw them down on Bourbon Street later that night!

Beasties boys have tons of great songs. Strange how people don't realize they were one of the earlier rap groups. They are OG like Run DMC

Listen to 3 MC's and 1 DJ. Early pioneers of HIp Hop. Pure talent. Saw them in 1989 in California. It's was the 80's I don't remember much. :)

Bro. I saw these guys at Lallapalooza in like 96' and they started out in daylight. By the time they played this song it was dark. During the breakdown, the second they yelled woooooooooh, they blasted the stadium lights. The whole place lit up like it was noon. And the place went absolutely crazy!!! It was timed so perfect. Theeee best concert moment ive eever been to. 40 years of these guys rockin it. Cant go wrong with the Beasties!
