I think the Beastie Boys' unique appeal with all their videos is that they're all stupidly entertaining to anyone who watches it. Even if you've never heard of them, or you're not into their genre of music or even if you don't understand English at all. Its just them running around the city or sets, dressed in costumes, with cheesy special effects and just beating the crap out of each other.

I love how Mike D loses focus and laughs about 0:39 - 0:43 then snaps it back and delivers the very next line as tight and precise as any rap artist has ever done. “Like caprese and with the basil” “Not goofy like Darren or Hazel” The FN delivery of those 2 lines along with that thumpin, high paced beat carrying the whole load.... pure genius

Everyone tries to look "Hard" like they are doing 20 in prison. Because everyone else does it. I guess once you put on the persona, you are stuck with it. These guys came out early. There were fewer "Role" models to copy. Maybe if they were starting today, they'd have to go along with the crowd.

holy crap I am fully ashamed that I never saw this video before. I can't call myself a Beastie Boys "fan" as it was never like that. They became a part of my life in high school when they were still a hardcore band and they just never left. The only band who I consistently enjoyed over decades - every album a sincere treat! I was a Metallica fan, I was a Green Day fan, I was a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan...they all got really boring after a while and I quit them cold. Beastie Boys? Nah - they transcended fandom IMO. Always on, always bringing something new, always growing. Gah! now I'm getting all verklempt :(
