I'm 65, and I asked my 32 year old son to go with me to this concert. He loved it. I told him that I was listening to this over 40 years ago. He has a new respect for me and for great musicians. Thanks for posting this.

I, too, was at this show. Amazing, the best live music I've seen in while except for Tool, and Puscifer in St. Pete. All of them were great, glad I got to see Belew, who's voice was amazing, Levin, and Vai truly amazing! If you get a chance, go see them. So many shows left.

This is the concert of the decade! Must see!!
@williambaldridge1203Ай бұрын
I agree but I would say more than just the decade. I've been going to concerts since the late 60s and I've even seen King Crimson way back.I don't know what decade it was.I think it was in the early 80s. somewhere back there, but this concert is, I think the best i've ever seen. Almost unbelievable that anyone could be so good. I hope I get a chance to see them again.

Woof, gonna have to stand in a walk-in freezer; my brain's melted. It was everything the Rick Beato interview offered and more! Thanks for posting this, I am so glad the universe put it in front of me, I wasn't even hunting for it, and it hasn't even been 24 hours since you posted. Big hugs to you, the band, and everyone that brought it together.

Crazy that they’ve never nailed the end of Three of a Perfect Pair. Not once. And Vai doesn’t even attempt Fripp’s parts on 90 percent of Frame by Frame.
@Strizz484Ай бұрын
He said in interviews from the beginning he'd have to rework some of Fripp's more intense parts after Vai's shoulder surgery forced him to change his picking style. I like his renditions personally, he respects the melody and feel of the parts while putting his spin on it, which is just what Fripp wanted him to do.
@hrwildem4993Ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting. I've been catching a lot of flack for calling out steve's playing on other videos. These church of vai members started making me think I was crazy - they treat any criticism as blasphemy.

@@hrwildem4993Blessings and profound respect to all these guys for performing real excellent live music when most everything else is processed cheese, but Vai doesn't do it for me in Crim context. I know this is a different animal, but in listening I'm reminded of Robert and Bill's absence in every bar. So its my loss obviously, and these humble statements of opinion can get us roughed up around here!

So you're going around shitting on Vai in every clip you can find, and then clutching your pearls when people don't want to hear your bullshit? Do I have that right?

I miss Fripp's amazing playing as well. Of course, the younger fans never got to see the original line-up. In some cases, Vai does an admirable job. But... Fripp war especially missed on his most memorable solos. I'm thinking particularly "Satori In Tangier"

I really tried to like King Crimson.. I did like "in the court of the crimson king".. but the rest.. not so much.. it just doesn't resonate with me.. too formal perhaps.. what am I not hearing that gets everyone in this comment section so enthusiastic?

@ParablemanАй бұрын
@@user-oy7gz5bf2h He's what I like least about this period of King Crimson, honestly. He's a good musician, but his off the wall vibe just doesn't seem to me to work all that well with such serious musicians doing such complex and amazing stuff. It's too cerebral for most people. You have to know and understand music well to get this. If you aren't a real music geek, you're not going to get why this stuff is so amazing. But his constant silliness, both in the lyrics and how he performs, just doesn't seem to me to fit with the other guys. And I don't think that changes with this lineup. I don't dislike it. This is amazing stuff. But it just feels weird to have that combination outside of, say, Weird Al Yankovic kind of material.
