Thats not how mirror force work it changes from original print to a reprint card effect. Original negate the attcack The reprint just destroy the monsters without negating firsts .

The clarification of its card text doesn't change how the card fundamanetally works. You cannot activate a card that only works on attack declaration in the battle step. Hence the text on Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force and Battle Fader all say "when your opponent declares an attack" declararing an attack is only the first step once a battle has been started.

Basically in Yugioh you cannot activate a card that only works on attack declaration in the battle step. The text on Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force and Battle Fader all say "when your opponent declares an attack", declararing an attack is only the first step once a battle has been started.
