Jeez Collin is nuts! Made every lift, even 530, looks easy and comfortable. I bet he has 545 in him, maybe 550. I would've tapped at the 450, as i've never pulled that much on a conventional bar. Seeing a dude whose likely sub 200 lbs bodyweight tear 530 off the ground without much effort is just inhuman.

You can tell Collin is the only one there who didn’t ego-lift in the gym and really got his form down. His strength is through hard work and practice. Huge Congrats on the PR Collin! Though I'd wager he definitely has 540+ in him. That 530 was only milliseconds slower than the 500... Just goes to show that aesthetics and size don't always go hand-in-hand with strength (I pinned him as one of the lesser built guys out of the top 3-5).

This is an awesome series. The camaraderie makes for great energy. Collin is a strong guy. Winced at the lifting form at a couple moments of the vid. Can get away with it when you're the age of these guys, but if they don't correct the lifting form, it'll compound and the effects will definitely catch up. Hitting 30 recently, i suddenly felt my age. Cultivate positive habits young and reinforce them over time.

That was some impressive lifting all around. Anything over three plates is honestly pretty respectable. People don't realize the amount of work it takes the average person to get above that point. You can't knock anyone who puts in the work to get there. The fact that you see this and celebrate guys who step up and achieve is absolutely fantastic. I started lifting because of bullying. I can only imagine how far I could've taken my body if I had that level of positivity around me through my quest for strength. I could have added plates to my lifts. Ok, that and a dietician would've been nice. I eat like a pig.

I don't what's going to be the finale but you must do an overhead press one and a big powerlifting mock meet, that would be nuts!

11:20 I guarantee you his PR was not 525. He made 500 look like a breeze. He was messing with you for another $100.

Yeah I would say his PR is probably upper 500s. On the other hand, he might not go for big PRs in order to protect his back

Or he had tested his PR sometime ago and had been training and was on good day?

@@dawidjasiak9646 I think 500 is a weight you have to train for, it’s beyond beginner, even for a heavyweight. So I think he would know that he was above 500, even to a large degree

@@sdo917 What the hell are you talking about mate. I dont really get what you wanna tell me. OFC you have to train to get your deadlift above 500 you have to train to get it like its obvious. Read again what i wrote and what OP wrote he said that His PR wasnt 525 and he lowballed it. You said he might not push too hard on his PRs that degrade form maybe its a chanse but what if he did what i said and he could have most likely (thats what i would bet on) test his 1 RM awhile ago and since then hes been doing standard rep work for him and training without 1 rep maxes and he had a good day so he beat his former PR with relative ease. for example me personaly i usualy stick to ranges that are 6 reps+ so i trained with like weight around 120 kg around a time when i tested my max it turned out to be 170. 10 kg better than my last PR that i had 2.5-3 years ealier i was hoping i could get to 150-160 when i was testing it (i didnt train during whole Covid shit cuz gyms were closed and it took me additional time to get into regular workout schedule after they opened it) i would have been happy with 160 i never expected to be able to do 170 but i pulled it.

You're an incredible athlete, not that it has to be said. You are extremely well rounded in almost all areas, endurance, power, speed, the same can't really be said for most of your contestants.
