Ben has actually really good strength for his BW. He lifted 350 despite his suboptimal setup and technique. If dude trains properly he can put up some crazy numbers.

Jeez Collin is nuts! Made every lift, even 530, looks easy and comfortable. I bet he has 545 in him, maybe 550. I would've tapped at the 450, as i've never pulled that much on a conventional bar. Seeing a dude whose likely sub 200 lbs bodyweight tear 530 off the ground without much effort is just inhuman.

You can tell Collin is the only one there who didn’t ego-lift in the gym and really got his form down. His strength is through hard work and practice. All the other guys are strong too but they’re definitely neglecting all the finer details that Collin’s been working on and it shows. Respect to everyone here, but Collin’s MVP.

Nick a tip for you; especially in the heavier weights you seem to bend your left arm and flex your bicep quite a lot. That's a great way to tear your bicep. So always when using mixed grip in deadlifts remember to focus on keeping your arms straight.

This is an awesome series. The camaraderie makes for great energy. Collin is a strong guy. Winced at the lifting form at a couple moments of the vid. Can get away with it when you're the age of these guys, but if they don't correct the lifting form, it'll compound and the effects will definitely catch up. Hitting 30 recently, i suddenly felt my age. Cultivate positive habits young and reinforce them over time.

That was some impressive lifting all around. Anything over three plates is honestly pretty respectable. People don't realize the amount of work it takes the average person to get above that point. You can't knock anyone who puts in the work to get there. The fact that you see this and celebrate guys who step up and achieve is absolutely fantastic. I started lifting because of bullying. I can only imagine how far I could've taken my body if I had that level of positivity around me through my quest for strength. I could have added plates to my lifts. Ok, that and a dietician would've been nice. I eat like a pig.

Beginners love the deadlift because it’s the the lift that goes up the fastest in the beginning. When it comes to advanced lifters their squats usually catch up and exceed their deadlift. The exception being guys who are just built to deadlift.

But yes, there was a point between 2000-2010ish where local nutrition shops sold gear over the counter. Some weren’t even pro hormones, but rather designer steroids: Superdrol (methasteron) was widely available ~2005.

Crazy bar speed until they hit a wall when their ass gets a little too quick and leaves them almost still legged with the bar at their knees and they either hitch the hell out of the weight to try to hump it up (doesn't count at any major federations meet) or they just drop it and save their cervical spine the abuse.

@@sdo917 What the hell are you talking about mate. I dont really get what you wanna tell me. OFC you have to train to get your deadlift above 500 you have to train to get it like its obvious. Read again what i wrote and what OP wrote he said that His PR wasnt 525 and he lowballed it. You said he might not push too hard on his PRs that degrade form maybe its a chanse but what if he did what i said and he could have most likely (thats what i would bet on) test his 1 RM awhile ago and since then hes been doing standard rep work for him and training without 1 rep maxes and he had a good day so he beat his former PR with relative ease. for example me personaly i usualy stick to ranges that are 6 reps+ so i trained with like weight around 120 kg around a time when i tested my max it turned out to be 170. 10 kg better than my last PR that i had 2.5-3 years ealier i was hoping i could get to 150-160 when i was testing it (i didnt train during whole Covid shit cuz gyms were closed and it took me additional time to get into regular workout schedule after they opened it) i would have been happy with 160 i never expected to be able to do 170 but i pulled it.
