@zukoHD
@zukoHD Жыл бұрын
@@bithon5242 to elaborate on my comment, just because you can pick it up, walk it out, and get one rep with it doesnt mean you are ready for that weight. The amount of risk you put into injury when moving weights you are not ready for is legit over 3 times that of the average workout. Theres a difference between stuggling with heavy weight an just shitting the bed when it comes to form. If your form is not in control, and you cannot control the lift, you are not ready for that weight, regardless of if you can get it back up or not. Its like the difference between being strong enough to pick up and hold a great sword, vs the strength it takes to wield it effectively for hours on end. And thats all not even to mention the fact, that if it is not a weight you can consistently reach within 10 lbs of then it is definitely too heavy for you. It doesnt matter if you squat 360 in your friends garage without any documentation i you can only hit 300 on competition day. Be realistic about your strength, the only person you are lying to is yourself.

@@zukoHD you’re correct, I hurt my rotator going for a 335 bench about a week right after doing a 315 for a struggle but clean rep. This was a couple years back and my shoulder has never been the same since. I stay under 275 bench just because of that injury. I don’t go super heavy anymore at all. I stick to the 6-8 rep range as the heaviest I’ll go.

It's just not like that, except in places that cater to the hard cores.

tbh, anyone that cared to lift should be able to do a 300lb squat - it's achievable for pretty much any male with 3 months work. Even 350-400 is pretty doable in 6 months for most males. The fact of the matter is training the squat properly is not something most people either know or care to do.

Nick, you always walk out to far wasting energy! Improve your technique so that it is literally just two small steps ~8 inches at most away from the rack. Also, even though it is for a video, squat inside the rack how it is designed for. Teach people how to do it properly and safely. Sometimes crazy things happen, people pass-out, etc, and doing it inside the rack with the safeties prevents worsening/serious injury from the weight falling on you in weird ways.

Okay, are we all gonna completely ignore the fact that Bennett looks EXACTLY like Jesse James West? Or is it just me... And yeah, you got some serious power lifters at that frat house. Crazy. Thanks for the video Nick!

@@Thelowish THANK YOU! I feel better, I'm not crazy. I honestly thought for like half the video he (Jesse James West) was there kinda just makin' an appearance, you know? Or like a cameo. But yeah...thank you for seeing that too.

This is a great fun series. Sterling had at least another 100lbs in him, and Mike's strength is seriously impressive for a guy his size and age. A technical note though - I know it's probably so you can get people's faces on camera, but you always face the wrong way when you're squatting in your videos! Doesn't it make it really hard to rack the bar afterwards when you have to walk backwards?

All these guys did great. I hope the ones that dipped out at 300 can learn to slow the eccentric. That’ll keep tension in the body and at least a couple of them probably could’ve lifted the bar back up
