It seems like a challenge to mod Quest games, so this is understandable. Still pretty annoying, considering I got my Quest 2 yesterday lol

Failing on expert? He deserves it! Expert is just practice for export+ every thing before both is for children and the elderly to feel accomplished when they finish a level. I have only beat around 5 or 6 ex+ levels, but I only have 5 or 6 expert levels in my library that I have yet to S rank, but to fail one is unforgettable.

some thoughts of mine: i found multiplayer SUPER fun, of course it sucks i no longer have custom songs and sabers, and i am stuck with only the basic built in songs but multiplayer makes up for it. here are some features i thought could make the game much more fun. - voice chat in the lobby at least, of course not in game cause people could just distract you but being able to talk to other people in the lobby would be really nice. but its just boring having to wait there for the game to start, and all you can do is wave to say hello and clap your hands as a "gg" its so limited in the lobbies. - custom saber/saber customization, where beating some of the campaign songs/levels you unlock a new saber piece, like a new handle or a new blade or even a new trail/particles. and the harder levels you beat, the better saber pieces you get, and this other idea is eh and some people will probably be against it but for multiplayer you could be rewarded some sort of in game currency that you can spend on saber pieces in a shop, how much you get depends on your placing, for example: 1st - 100 coins 2nd - 50 coins 3rd - 25 coins and so on. - in game friend list/add friend button. a button where you could add someone to your oculus friends list immediately would be super cool. - a team mode in multiplayer where you and your team mate try to score as much points you can to try and beat the other team, and for example you could be blue team and the other team is red, lets say red team is winning, the arena you are in would turn red, and if you were winning it would turn blue, instead of having the giant avatar in the middle of the game. - vote for different arenas im not sure if im using the right word, but i wish you could vote for different arenas, so its not always the same one, you know? to keep it different so it doesnt get boring/stale over time. - slight updated graphics/textures for oculus quest. - more avatar customization, none of the avatar hair choices are even close to mine, more skin tones, clothing and such. - crossplay, im sure thats in the works but that would be really cool to see. and if it does happen, an option to turn off crossplay in the settings, kind of like rocket league (for those who dont want crossplay). - better spectating angles, sometimes i join a game and im forced to watch the rest of the people finish the song, and im stuck with a pretty bad angle. this might be too much, but maybe a feature where you could spectate players from inside of them, almost like you were them, watching from their POV. also when youre playing and there's only one person left playing, i dont see the point in keep going, everyone else was eliminated, but thats just my opinion. ill add others if i think of more.

voice chat is the smallest of reasons why this update is a big dissappointment. the lack of cooperative play, or varied difficulty etc is what really makes this suck. BMF was the perfect example of this. i am a lot better than all of my friends at beatsaber (atleast out of those i'm limited to play with on steam) and so no matter what song we pick, im 99% likely going to win every time. where is the fun in that? they should have looked at the guitar hero series on how to do multiplayer rhythm games. It works well, but its mostly pointless

totally agree. I don't think mp was well thought out, and I feel like FB probably forced this on the Beat Saber guys before they were ready. Not to mention for me, all the other players moves updated in like half second increments. it was smooth for me, but I lost a match and wanted to spectate and I couldn't tell what the winner was doing cause his gameplay was so choppy

I expect voice chat to be implemented in the future. But the multiplayer update has problems. Sometimes the game will think you are in a wall when you clearly aren't, stuttering issues, blocks don't face you properly for some reason. Also, if you don't have the DLC to a song you can't even play. I would at least want to play the beatmap without music so I'm not left out. But I do understand there are some licensing issues with that.

one of my favorite things about beat saber is the part of it where, if you a fail a song, you just retry or keep going depends if you have nf on, the whole spectator thing kinda fucks the vibe for me, wish they had an option to send you to a "practice game" or like, being able to play with the song even if you've failed and just going off score. Also, custom levels!!! it'd be super nice if there was a seperate section for custom songs, and have a system like osu where if a song isn't downloaded, it will give you the option to download it in-game. i think that would make the multiplayer miles better-- rather than just the packed in levels, i mean sure, camillia is awesome but sometimes i just wanna play XI, t+, tekina, or maybe just lemon demon or something if i'm feeling more chill with friends. i mean, maybe i'm just a sucker for custom levels, but imo i'd definitely play multiplayer way more with them, the live competitive aspect is really interesting to me.

I enjoyed playing multiplayer a lot... until the multiplayer update came out and broke multiplayer mod along with all the others. I gave the official multiplayer a try and it's great... if you like playing the OST maps. Their flow is nonexistent, their speed is glacial, and their patterns make me physically sick. At least I can still play my 700 custom songs which I must navigate through without searching or sorting. I didn't realize just how difficult it is to play at my level with the default sabers. I feel smothered by the trails, and even at 0 intensity, whitestep can't be disabled so they still have annoying white trails. But hey, at least the new menu looks nice.

I want to see a co-op. Now hear me out. Your vatars stand next to each other, one has the standard colors. The other has different colors. You both see the blocks, and each others saber movements and avatars. You could implement cool things where you have to physically move to swap sides to hit the notes you want. Just my thoughts, and settings to toggle muting players during games would be nice, rather than just talking in the lobby, you can choose to hear others in game with a button on the controller.

Hey man, just wanted to say great videos as always. With this being now 2021, voice chat and in-game chat works. However limited during game play as it fades out a little and is hard to talk with one another just when no music beats are on. Multiplayer doesn't permit yet. but voice chat with a friend when in the main menu of the quest, you can call and talk with a friend, and bring that person into a game with you without having to give him a code (private server). he follows you in without needing a code. I do hope they allow Volume control for music when you talk with friends would make it that much better to an already great system.

Agreed, once you're used to modded Bear Saber with BMBF and hundreds of custom tracks you can never go back. I play Beat Saber all the time but I haven't played any of the normal built in tracks for months. I would have been bored with the game months ago if it wasn't possible to load your own songs. Someone said it here and i think the same, in another rythem game called Osu if you play multiplayer and you fail the game lets you know you failed but you can keep playing the song, i think that is very needed in Beat Saber especially because its a VR game and you cant just walk away or tab out of the game.

Bought my quest on launch day. Target hadnt even put them out yet and had full stock. First time in VR, thought I’d get motion sick, surprisingly didn’t and grew my vr legs in just a few hours! Beat saber was my first paid game

I just tried it and i wish there were at least a few cooperation elements, i mean its neat to be able to see other folks playing, but the gameplay is pretty much the same since you dont really have time to look at stuff in the background, i hope they add some way to communicate between songs too

I have a question. I have wanted to get into vr and the oculus quest 2 is really speaking to me but I have a ps4. I’m split down the middle with this one. Hope to get some help from your expert knowledge. Keep up the good work man!
