Beat the Clock - Community education helps end early and forced marriage in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has one of the world's highest levels of child marriage. Useaking was 17 when she ran away to marry a boy she’d met at Sangrai, a traditional water festival. She thought marriage would bring her the freedom she craved. Now 21, she has two young children to care for.
"I was too young to understand anything back then. At that time, I only thought of falling in love, marrying and running away," Useaking says. "Now I regret that decision. It would have been better if I didn't get married. My life wouldn't be like this if I had studied. I have nothing left in my life. I can't go anywhere."
