Beat the Clock - Fight violence. Change minds. - Peru

Our We Decide programme is tackling violence in Loreto, Peru. By helping young people advocate for their rights, they can address the harmful gender norms that fuel sexual and gender-based violence. Together, we will Beat the Clock.
53-year-old Susana knows that violence happens in her community - even if people aren’t talking about it. “Sometimes people don’t know that others will help them, because no one has taken the time to offer,” she says.
Susana is taking that time. She’s working hard to make sure that people - especially women and girls - know they can come to her for support. That’s how she is helping to beat the clock that’s ticking towards an estimated 131 years until the world achieves gender equality.
