Beat the Clock - Preventing teen pregnancy and female genital mutilation in Kenya through education

Our Break Free programme in Kenya helps prevent teen pregnancy and female genital mutilation by educating women and girls about their sexual health and rights. Together, we will Beat the Clock.
Poria, 16, is part of Plan International’s Break Free programme. Its goal is to improve the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of adolescents and promote gender equality for women and girls. It also aims to improve access to education. The longer a girl stays in school, the less likely she will be to marry before age 18 and have children during her teenage years.
