Beat the Clock - We need to talk about sexual violence in order to prevent it - Honduras

In Honduras, our Violence-Free Generation project is teaching girls and young women how keep themselves safe from harm by having open and honest conversations. Together, we will Beat the Clock.
12-year-old Génesis lives in Choluteca, Honduras with her family. A confident, energetic and keen student, she says that girls in her community often face sexual abuse and violence. It’s a threat she is determined to reduce through advocacy, information and training for girls and youth.
After attending workshops run by Plan International as part of our Violence-Free Generation programme, Génesis learnt how to use her sixth sense - intuition - the innate ability to instinctually perceive possible threats or danger. By learning how to assess the things in life that could pose a risk to their safety, girls are better equipped to stay safe from harm.
