I am close to finishing the game and I have just discovered how powerful flame whiplash can be. I am using it with a piece that has a chance to grant a blessing of cooldown on hits and it's a great combo.

Thanks again for more of these GOW videos. Question about difficulties - with the Horizon franchise the difference between Normal and Ultra Hard is huge. Really big difference. Would you say that there is also a similarly huge difference between GOW "Balance" and "Give Me God of War" difficulties? The reason that I ask is that this example that you showed did not look that difficult to me and you also had some very low level gear. But I'm sure that although your example looked easy to me, I'd just bang my head against the wall if I were in the same scenario! :) Just curios as to your thoughts on this as I might be ready to bump up the difficulty from "balance" on this game. Thanks in advance.

Hey Brian! It was nice to see you on stream today 😁 I would say the difficulties do scale similarly to Horizon. Give Me God of War is quite difficult. In particular, this is mainly because enemies can "evolve" to a higher power level mid-combat, which makes it much tougher to beat them. You actually see it happen at least once in this video what the Hateful starts to glow purple around it's torso. I interrupt it quickly by hitting it with an arrow from Atreus to prevent it from evolving. The other thing that makes GMGOW tough is the fact that the stagger bars degrade more quickly, so it can be tougher to build up a stun. However, you can drop down from GMGOW any time you want, you just can't go back up to it once you go down. I would suggest starting a GMGOW playthrough and then, if you decide it's not fun, you can drop down to a lower difficulty whenever you want. You just won't be able to go back to GMGOW. Keep in mind the early part of the game through Svartalfheim or so is the most challenging on GMGOW. Once you get some decent gear and unlock some skills, it gets easier. Hope this helps!

@@ArktixOfficial Definitely helps! Thank you again. I find GOW to be a more difficult game than Horizon in general and I wonder if you agree with this. I think that for me it has to do with perfect timings of all kinds and not just perfect timings of parries. That and lots of things happening at the same time to pay attention to during combat. Very fun game, but I'm not sure that I find it nearly as replay-able as the Horizon franchise to the point that I'll put in the hours needed to become skilled enough to get to the higher difficulties.

That is just not how my fight goes. I immediately get mobbed on 3 sides by all 3 enemies while Atreus stands around the side and shoots arrows

i took me 3 days & god knows how many tries to beat the berserker king on give me story, with maxed out gear!! as for GNA ive simply given up, ive got more chance of getting the eagle bearer in division 2 than beating GNA 😢

I’ll be doing GOW videos for the next couple of weeks since the PC port just dropped, but I’ll still be doing Horizon streams up until the remaster release! My plan now is to finish the game before the remaster and then start a new stream playthrough on NG+ with the remaster.

Damn is that easy on ps5. Easier flame build up and blade charging is faster. More dmg, despite that I have more strength. Shield charging while blocking and not just at parry. And why would you use the dauntless shield here? It's so much worse here.
