Never disappoints…it might take awhile of watching videos but Randy is steadily giving up juice on good fishing tips

Some guys just like chasing new lures. They are designed primarily to catch fisherman.

I worked with a guy that said the same thing. He would add some imperfections because nothing in nature is "perfect". He caught a ton of fish too.

My best crankbait ever was a KVD bluegill squarebill that i got out of a tree. Half the bill was missing. Eventually snagged it and bought a new one. Bite rate dropped by 90%

I found its also the color contrast that's created on some of my old lure that are banged up. I transfered that experience to the lures I hand make.

Being without income, rather than pay money for lures, I just hike around lakes+ ponds- find a bunch of baits along the edges- clean+ fix em' up for my own fishin'

Anyone that's used Mike Bucca's Bull Shad swimbait, knows he paints his lures not real flashy, almost dull..looks more natural..paint's not uniform on both sides, spots in different areas. Looks very natural

When I was young I would fish a pond and if I caught em on one bait for a few days I would have to switch lures cause I knew way back then that they were getting used to seeing the same lure , they do get conditioned to a ton of lures

I had a Bagels B3 All Pearl I don't know how many times I had to repair it either with paint or glue it caught me more fish on Stockton Lake in Mo. I have retired that bate because I caught a 10-4 on Stockton with it and it sits in the mouth of the fish. I was in about two feet of water it was the wildest fight I ever had. It ran straight at me and when it came to me it Dove under the boat and was splashing on the other side I was looking between my legs and I told my partner to net it I will never forget that fish.

I have always believed that beat up lures work better because there is something about that lure that was already working well. I've had dozens of a specific crankbait in a specific color. I have 2-3 that are completely beat up and always catch fish. Also, most of them are missing one eye. But, I think the beat up lures work because something about them already worked. Also, the confidence to keep throwing it.

Ive had some lures that were so good the paint was completely worn off from being bit and they became bone colored ... and they still got bit. Must have been the color but the action too.

I had a bandit chartreuse and blue and caught several 5and 6 pounders on it and the next year I hooked one giant bass and it got to the boat and shocked its head and then shot right under the boat and broke my line. Made me sick because I lost that crank bait I got several crank baits just like it but they don’t catch like the one I lost

Love throwing baits with bite marks! Although I don't get how the bite pattern looks backwards, maybe you could do a short on that? Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly what it is but have noticed that some lures just seem to have something extra..maybe you are right about it running better or it might be a difference in the vibrations

I kinda think. 🤔. Because. Even though manufacturing should be perfect from product to product. Some you got one that’s micro specs off. And it’s action give tinny different signature. In the water than others off the manufacturing line. Triggers fish better.

I am getting ready to pull my cranks out from 30 years ago, they caught fish back then and they will catch fish today, as to what has changed about the sport is how loose lip everyone is on what they used, 30 years ago they would just say a hook was used as to never say to keep that edge down the road.

I buy Japanese hooks that are like a frog hook, more weedless, and or cut off 3rd barb of trebble, but I hardly.get snagged in wood or rock, a clip helps add mobility to the action and can come through gnarly stuff. A short roll cast into timber is fun too, practice casting and working them through.its the way....to generate good reactions. 👍

I never show em the same thing twice.at ponds.always come w a new tactic, and lure presentation, keeps em from being conditioned to my lures, and I add length to the cast, open bail walk another 20 to 40 feet. They might turn away from. A regular length cast, but not a extra long cast, it's in the zone much longer, and dupes em.

...and while we're at it can we mention the genetic impact on a population that occurs when the prime individuals are taken out? Again, it's not a reflection of what happens naturally. It doesn't take a biologist to figure out what happens next.
