Izotope RX has become a tool I cannot live without, namely for the Azimuth tool, and the Phase & Polarity correction tools.

back when i started mixing +10 years ago, i didnt know what a de esser even meant, i always used the stock fft filter and highlighted the plosives and did some reduction. when i met different engineers and told them about my technique later, they all laughed, and that's how i got introduced to the concept of a de-esser :p

At 9:15, what of the changes made him on pitch? U didn't add autotune but the pitch clearly improved alot?! Sry iam pretty new

Wow, you've really outdone yourself here this was like a master class condensed into just a few minutes. Everything made sense individually and in whole, but it's a pretty in depth workflow that I'll have to watch a few times. I use Sectralayers not RX I really haven't made great use of it so far. I like the idea about cutting below the fundamental. I'm going to have to explore that and make sure that I don't touch the fundamental like you mentioned.

definitely a simple and effective method, personally I like a lot more color, but it's good.

Simple? There were like 18 seperate manipulations performed across the whole slew of devices. There's nothing simple about it.
@subtractivemusic3 ай бұрын
@@ThisGuyDudeI guess this is technically true. The reason it is seen as simple is this can be a systemized method, and you can make a checklist out of this and a template. It's a setup process.

@@ThisGuyDude i'm sorry, i've been doing this a long time and I may have lost the plot. this seems simple to me. I will say though, everything get's easier.

Ok boss man I had an amazing thought!Can you teach us how to place a vocal sample in the beat like a Kanye West style soul sample.How can we make the vocal more of an instrument looping in the background.

Good tutorial as usual but could you do a video on how to make the vocals pop in the midrange my mixes sound good on huge speakers but on small speakers its a bit weak I don’t know why the middle sound weak and thin.

Hey so for hip hop vocals , i usually get beats from youtube, what LUFS should my raw vocals and beat be hitting before i start to mix them ? i have trouble balancing the vocal and beat together volume wise.

when it comes to formant shifting, do you think little alterboy is a bit overrated as a plugin
@sageaudio3 ай бұрын
I still like it, but a good free option is Pitch Munk by Vox Samples. Lets you alter 24 semitones in either direction instead of little alterboy's 12.

could you make a complete guide on mixing vocals professionally with analog emulation plugins?

Interesting idea, we'll definitely take that into consideration! We do have two videos that are pretty similar to this already called "How To Make Vocals Sound Analog and "How to Make Warm Vocals" that we'd recommend you check out in the meantime! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5ayfX-Aot58bqs kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqC0pIOBdtmJia8
