One reason why I refuse to venture into learning to perfect my makeup application is 1) I don't like a lot of products on my face and 2) I don't want to spend a lot of money on products. I'm so glad you said that about high lighting. I always thought that technique was for and looked best in photos. highlighting over the lip and tips of nose looks like sweat or moisture imo I don't want my foundation to have any sheen.

Learn as many techniques as you can. Try your hardest to learn it and master it, but just know that different artists have different strengths and more than likely you're not gonna do much glitter and fancy stuff anyway. You seldom see all that wild stuff on the cover of magazines and on the red carpet cuz nobody really does all that! Doesn't mean you shouldn't have it in your back pocket and be able to bust it out if you need to, but don't stress yourself thinking that its a primary look!

When I first started makeup back wayy back then man I never knew that painting was the thing. of course can't draw so I took it to another level. I loved make up. It's been so long. I put to much shimmer on my eyelids and was a hottmess. not knowing that you have to tone it down with matte colors. Thank you so much for the tips.
