Here's a tip: Cerebrum in Mt. Itoi cave only uses PSI powers and has a ton of PSI energy. If you PSI-block it with Ana, you can PSI-magnet her PSI all the way back to full and heal up every party member. It's basically a hotel in the form of a creature.

I gave up on mother 1 years ago because the gameplay made me rage too much. but for some reason I find it to be the most charming game of the franchise. Just reminds me of my childhood for some reason

I agree- this game’s vibes are unmatched, even in the rest of the series. I think the soundtrack does wonders for the game- the melody-heavy themes allow for a much more “carefree” experience, if that makes sense. It definitely feels like a much more innocent game than the rest of the series.

It took me awhile to realize how strong Ana actually is Like if all 3 Mother Games main party members got into a fight Ana would beat most of them do to her PSI

I just beat this game. With using a map and grinding, I actually didn't find Mt. Itoi that hard. Ninten can just use 4th-D-Slip or Ana can use PK Y Beam or PK Freeze Y and kill enemies in one hit (provided you have it). Give Lloyd some Flame throwers and you should be able to make it back to the house and save. Then get Eve and grind until Ana has PK Lifeup Omega. The worst part of the game was Duncan's Factory by far. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place! Once you get PK Teleport the game becomes MUCH more bearable. Earthbound Beginnings is a game that has a Horrible first half, but once you get Lloyd and Ana both, the game gets slightly better. Still I think this game is extremely painful to playthrough. I forced myself to beat it and now that I have I'M NEVER REPLAYING IT AGAIN!

As a Mt. Itoi survivor I could say that the healer, Eve, and Cerebrums were an attempt to balance the dungeon and allow you to grind to the point necessary to beat the game. Then Giygas himself ends up being weaker than one of those Mountain Bears. It is what it is. 😂
