Do you know if the menu can be accessed at any point of the game or if there's some sort of deadline? I'm at the endgame where Onett has been taken over and I've gotten up to the point with the empty text box, but for the life of me i can't get the debug menu open, even after trying with different controllers and following along with clips of successful attempts.

Definitely the best and funniest earthbound playthough I've seen so far. Also, ironically, I was playing final fantasy 7 when I heard the ff7 victory theme used.😂

Grinded for that bat in Winters and gave it to Ness after the Jeff quest. Didn’t make the early game that much easier, wouldn’t recommend.

The issue with earthbound zero's encounter rate is that it's similar to the one final fantasy has. However, in final fantasy the encounter rate makes sense because you move over a small map depicting a continent. In Earthbound zero the entire world is the size of multiple final fantasy continents, which leads to you getting jumped constantly.
