My younger brother is recovering from anorexia as well. All "special days" were so strange and stressful for us as a family and I'm sure super difficult for him. This easter he still wasn't ready to try chocolate but he allowed himself to have fruit juice as a special treat, and I swear it was a small but so brave step from him, he saw us eating chocolate and said, "how's it like?maybe next year can I try right?" . Anorexia fills you of fear and recovery is a steep road, you are really brave, you are a fighter indeed, and so is my brother everyday.i swear I'm really proud of you, it feels weird and awkward saying it to an internet person I don't know but it's a though fight with ups and downs and I can't express how much Im proud of you. You are allowed of having pleasure of food, and I'm so happy for you step by step being able to do it. I send you loads of love darling💞

it feels extremly weird to do catharsis in a comment section filled by strangers, I have nothing else to say than thank you all. We will be next to my brother, thankfully the worst part already passed. Knowing his struggle we can only accompany him through the journey so he doesnt fall deep again. It's a inside mind battle but one day he will be free from it, and so I hope everyone. really thank you y'all

I understand that your mum loves you so much and is a huge advocate for you in getting well, but I just want to say that I'm so proud of you for eating the chocolate that you did. Having however much chocolate you desired at the time was a great achievement. Maybe in the future you will have more in one sitting, but for right now, you ate chocolate. Girl, that's amazing!!!!!

I had anorexia back in 2012/2013 and was almost at the point of being admitted as in patient because of it. My household was full of arguments, negativity and battles because of the ED so I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about. So here’s a glimmer of hope for you- I am fully recovered, don’t even want to weigh myself or count calories because i realise it doesn’t contribute to my happiness, I don’t restrict on anything, if I’m feeling cake for breakfast I have it, I LOVE going out to eat in restaurants, tasting new foods and eating with my family, I’ve gained so much independence because I eat, I’m finishing my undergraduate degree because I eat, I’ve been able to go on holidays with my friends because I eat - I can honestly say recovery is the only option for true happiness in life. And I believe in you, you will 100% get there too Roo 🥰

It's insane how much I can relate to the "ED causing an argument", I constantly snap at my mom whenever she looks at my food, goes into the kitchen when I make food/ weight the living hell out of a piece of dust (or what it feels like) and I hate it. I don't wanna get upset and hide my habits like a crazy person. So I wanted to thank you for showing us that moment, getting healthy is not just a straight road but it gets bumpy at times and even leads to a dead end sometimes. This is so real and makes me so happy for you! 😭❤

@@charla869 Thank you so much! I wish you all the best as well! ❤ I think I'm so caught up in the thought that I'd be judged negatively for eating/weighing my food that I unconsciously judge myself for their possible reactions, and this causes me to be so irritated. Although sometimes my mom just straight up turns like an owl just to catch a glimpse of the food I have on my plate even though I try to hurry back into my room :/
@ChiakiHatori
@ChiakiHatori 3 жыл бұрын
@@rinaj1604 Sadly I can relate to that as well (binging), my mom has insulted me for gaining weight several times before and in public which didn't help either. At my current weight, the only concern is me getting obese while my habits lead to malnourishment and weight loss (but that couldn't ever be a concern right?). I think the fact that being skinny and weight loss is advertised as positive, fuels this toxic relationship with food even more. TW!!! At my worst, I was getting so many compliments from people, "how do you stay fit?" and everything but now that I gained again, nothing...

It'd be interesting to have a 'eating what my family eats in a day' video - i.e portions sizing/adding in more fear foods. You're doing so great! (and how do they make Easter chocolate taste so much better?) :)

Thank you for the puppy clips they are really helping me through and helping to not restrict, my dog was always the one to make sure I eat, she was a service dog, she told me when my blood sugar was low, or if it was to high. I miss her keep your puppy close it's okay

so I really wanted to comment and just express how proud I am of you I’ve never suffered with an ed, but I have some friends that have suffered/still do suffer with them, and this really gives me an insight into the other perspective. Because even with people that I’m close with or am surrounded by almost everyday, it’s so crazy to think how the ed can make them so good at hiding their illness, and even though one of my friends did recover a few years ago, another friend I have still struggles immensely everyday, and just seeing these make me wanna show them that there is hope in recovery and they have the strength it takes to beat it, even on the days they don’t believe it. Watching your journey and how visibly stronger you’ve been getting from what you’ve put out there, even with the bad moments, it just makes me so excited to see you get your place of full recovery. It’s just really inspiring to see even as someone that doesn’t relate to your situation. Seeing how the good moments affect you and make you proud of yourself always puts a smile on my face

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your recovery with us... Personally I don't have an ED but I struggled with my weight and eating a lot and had to work a lot to develop a normal relationship with food. Your channel reminds me to eat and nourish myself the way my body needs and wants. So thanks Ro and you go girl!!!

Hi Ro, I have recently found your channel and I love it. I guess you're probably used to hearing and reading these kind of remarks, but honestly you soothe me so much. I suffered from an eating disorder back in 2015-2016, and sometimes I still struggle when it comes to think straight and just enjoy food. Finding amazing people like you who dare to share their recovery and emotions is so nice. I think it's not easy to sit down and expose yourself while trying to eat. So I want to thank you, 'cause I wish I had found someone like you before, but I suppose that searching for food information was a priority, which I'm not proud of. I also used to be very scared to eat in front of other people and I can relate. I literally cried like a couple of times watching your videos and you always get to make me feel emotional. Thanks for everything you've been doing so far and I don't want you to stop being this strong, you got this girl! But remember that feeling guilty is normal, as you told, although don't let guilt control your life 'cause food is amazing. one of your latest video intro made me feel so happy and conscious about something. You said that there's not bad or good food, food is just good because you need it, it's like fuel. So, I don't have much more to say, just wanted you to notice me. Since you appeared, I realised we are so alike, ily! I wish you replied, that would make me so elated :( Best wishes from Spain ^-^ XOXO Ana

watching your content is really encouraging and also reassuring. i've been recovering for a while and i'm definitely getting better but it's tricky and i occasionally have some really bad times. however, seeing you try your hardest and show not only the positives but also some of the more difficult moments makes me feel a lot more normal and it also helps me to stay motivated and keep myself on track. i've been watching your videos so much recently and i have learned new ways to remind myself that eating is a good thing, because it is. i genuinely can't thank you enough and i wish you the absolute best of luck on your recovery journey :)

I just want to say: I’m really, really proud of how far you‘ve come on jour journey of recovery, Ro. Your such a strong person (and you seem really nice too, I kind of wished we were friends)! To everyone who is suffering from anorexia or another eating disorder: It‘s not strong to restrict. Actually it‘s strong to take care of your body and eat and treat it well for working the right way, being healthy and being a home for our soul. It‘s not weak if you eat, you don‘t have to feel guilty. It‘s strong to accept yourself the way you are, and to eat when your body tells you to do so. You have to feel guilty instead if you’re starving yourself all the time, because that’s when you don‘t treat your body right and don’t appreciate it enough.You‘re all so damn much more than how much you weight or how you look! Don’t let food control your life. The most important thing is being healthy. Even if we would all do the same amount of sports and eat exactly the same, we would all look different. And that’s okay. We have to accept it and stop compare us so much. Otherwise we’ll be unhappy and miserable for the rest of our lives. We’re all unique and that’s a wonderful thing. You‘re beautiful and you are great the way you are! Much love to everyone who reads this❤️❤️
