Just a small clarification. La Copa Libertadores is the equivalent of the european Champion's League, which is a club competition, not a national team cup. The cup you are referring to is la Copa America, which is the continental national competition for south american countries. (PS only recently also north american national teams have been invited to participate making it at all effect an american continental competition) (PPS the ball is red/orange in that game because you're playing in the snow and, if the field gets white by it, it's easier to see the ball)

Sorry to bring my nerd knowledge but no 1:44 Copa Libertadores is a Club International Competition in South America but it is not the qualifiers for the world cup they are just called "Qualifiers" Also the FIFA 98 and World Cup 98 are "different" games because the FIFA and World cup games are different series although they were both done by EA today what they do is add DLC of the world cup to the main FIFA game instead of making world cup games they did until the 2014 world cup game. I do not blame you for doing both though in the end is the same sports simulation game just with different name.

RTWC98 was one of the best soccer games out there at the time, but yeah, it was rough. I really liked that it had an actual dive mechanic, just like in real life! Sadly, the following FIFA game on the console never felt like an actual sequel to this one. The World Cup 98 'sequel' actually had some stuff taken away from the previous game, so it wasn't exactly a clone.

You know what's the funniest part about this video? It's that according to FIFA rules at the time, the current World Cup champion auto qualified for the following World Cup tournament without the need to go through the qualifying stages. And can you guess what team won the 94 WC?

Funnily enough, you could've picked Australia for the OFC qualifiers, they're really short. Plus, if you made it through the qualifiers yet got beaten in either the groups or the knockout stage, you could start from whichever of the two you ended at with any team you wanted.

The idea of having every FIFA registered country in a game was really wild. It still doesn't happen that often today. As for the World Cup games, that's all down to licensing. They're not a full-fat FIFA but they make up for it with the official stadiums, team kits and some presentational flair.

@DCol Жыл бұрын
No, it was possible to buy both in each Europe and USA. They're not regional variants, they're 2 different games. From 1998-2014, EA/FIFA would release an additional World Cup-licensed game when a World Cup was being held that year. "FIFA Road to World Cup 98" is pretty much just "FIFA 98" it features soccer clubs and leagues too.
