@SaxSlaveGael9 ай бұрын
Yup. Totally bizzare!
@aprinnyonbreak12909 ай бұрын
I mean. There are highly specific times where two shields like this might be useful. Say, you have a 100% physical shield, but also want a shield for the projectile of a boss which is, say, Lightning, and you don't have any shields that are good in both stats, so you intend to switch off to the lightning shield for that specific attack. Or, maybe you have a shield you actually use, and then your Stamina regen shield you two hand with. However, these are extraordinarily niche use cases, and are usually adaptations to having to work with limited gear. Definitely not a core part of a basically functional, idealized build

This build really isn't that bad, considering low vigor and fat roll is offset by the shields and summons. High int scaling weapon/staff with a strong AoW poise breaker on the rapier pairs for a number of decent tactics against various bosses. Not amazing for Malenia, but I think everyone is severely underestimating the damage potential. Ive seen worse builds for sure

I like how the build itself isn't bad, it's just that it doesn't live to its full potential. Making it a medium load by switching the Radahn armor could help, and adding parries to the shields could work. Overall, play however you want, but it seems a bit goofy to self-nerf.
@KevinOnEarth_7 ай бұрын
Agreed. Ppl are hating on this build for no real reason than to inflate their own paltry ego. Med roll with one parry shield and no one would blink an eye at this build. That being said, his build is indicative of someone who isn’t a souls veteran which is 100% okay. I can see someone thinking the equip load is something you get close to without going over hence why he’s fat rolling. Plus, as a range spell caster, he probably anticipated not getting into melee range enough to require a medium build anyway which is understandable.

The mention of lighter load, at least to me, implies he was using the Winged Crystal Tear if he couldn't fatroll things mid fight. Given the magic setup of the... "build"..., the other was probably Cerulean or Magic Shrouding. He was also using pre-multiple nerf Moonveil so he was probably crutching super hard on that.

I hate how you did so well with this inane build, meanwhile it takes everything I have to claw out a win against Malenia... Truly amazing stuff. Also, it's one of the few times I've seen someone use a shield against Malenia and it's disgusting how much health she gets back even if you block with a shield.
@CallyMayz2 ай бұрын
The build isn't that bad. Especially if you presume that it's everything that gets used, and stuff might be removed if it's useless when fighting bosses. Especially if you're not terminally on the wiki so don't have an incredible understanding of the mechanics. Two shields is the weirdest part, but the load isn't going down by removing it, you're never gonna fumble with them really, so it's likely just to remove the necessity of opening the inventory to swap.

The way he has double shields is so odd... like if one shield was upgraded and left standard to have a high Guard Boost stat and the other was infused with an Ash of War/Whetblade to have a higher damage reduction that would make sense to me. It also doesn't help that Malenia is just a miserable fight for shield-focused builds with the healing/status effect combo she has going on

Having the HP and FP flasks on the quick pouches are one of the few things right with this build. Hell I even finally convinced one of my friends to put his flasks there. It's superior IMO. It's always there with the same button combo, no need to scroll through or hold down on the D-Pad to get through to the red flask in a pinch. Just holding triangle and pressing up, bending my left index finger over to press the d-pad. It's nicely consistent. Makes knives and bombs so much more viable. And if those two inputs were too much to avoid dying in a pinch it probably was a bad spot to heal anyhow. The only real reason I can see for having them on the first toolbar slot is some disability affecting finger dexterity. Though I don't know how bad of a handicap that would have to be. I recently got back into playing ER recovering from a dog attack (as well as anticipating the new DLC) and I didn't have trouble with the pouch's inputs, despite one of the wounds that required stitching was at the back of my left hand where the middle finger's tendon is and I had no trouble healing in-game with the pouch-setup.
@ellagage1256Ай бұрын
Personally I switch to putting them in the quick pouch slots if I have the normal pouch filled with a bunch of other items. Mimic Tear can use most items placed in the normal pouch without actually using them up so filling those slots up with harder to acquire items like ritual pots and perfumes can be a lot of fun
