Beating Minecraft's Hardest Modpack With Nothing // Episode 7 - The Power Of Stinky (Wal)Nut Juice

In this seventh episode of the series, I automate the production of liquified robot flatulence, render 90% of my basic material production methods obsolete through the power of janky engineering and poorly documented game mechanics, and play a dimension-spanning game of pin the tail on the dungeon.
GT - New Horizons is an intricately designed and custom-coded kitchen-sink style modpack built on the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. It integrates hundreds of Minecraft's flagship mods into a Gregtech framework - completely overhauling the mods' traditional progression in the process, and radically rebalances any of the technologies those mods may offer.
Because doing things the normal way is 'too easy', I am following a ruleset based off of the (in)famous Garden Of Grind ruleset that places me in a completely empty superflat dimension. Every single resource I need, including blocks to stand on, has to be created out of nothing by finding clever workarounds and weird mechanics. Unlike in Garden Of Grind, I am not restricted to only my starting dimension - it's just that every other dimension starts out just as empty as my first one.

@@JacklynBurnThe bit at some point in the series where the machine audio totally drowns them out reminds me of a mining exhibit in some museum which included, among historical artifacts, a mining device put out to pasture. The guide informed us that it was particularly loud and was responsible for hearing damage in miners, and then started telling us a joke. He then turned on the literally deafeningly loud machine for five seconds, cozy in his ear plugs, and then finished his joke.

FYI, that bug that lets you turn redstone into obsidian you talk about at 19:00 still worked in 1.7.10. In fact, there's a slightly jankier way to turn string into obsidian too. The rock breaker just saves you the trouble of making and using the setup, and mining the produced obsidian. Although, it doesn't have the option to run on string - that would be too easy.

I think that it might be that the greggification of all the recipes in the pack has, for whatever reason or another, made such glass much more difficulter to come by.

If memory serves me correctly, at 11:29 you can use a dispenser to apply bonemeal to the seeds. You can either extend the repeat signal from the villager which you use for cobblestone, or make a new repeat signal with another villager. Then, the only thing which would need, is a bunch of hoppers, to fill a chest with a hopper above the dispenser with bonemeal, and pipe the produce to where it needs to go in the machine. Mind you, I have never played any of these machine mod packs.

I guess you could use Auto Workbenches for crafting XP into different patterns. Extremely slow, but would require zero intervention. Buckets can be automatically filled at this tech level. I'm sure because I once automated bucket filling for running furnaces off creosote buckets. Very slow, but lots of tables would help.
