I believe I have an original of this. It was purchased with me and my brother's allowance money in 1967 when we were 4 years old. We had to save for weeks ( our allowance was 25 cents a piece. We were obviously from a poor family). I have always felt this was superior to "The Beatles Story" as well. Peace and Love, Terry and Julia Tutor

Charly Records is not a “counterfeit” label. They are a legitimate UK reissue label. Most dominant on their label at that time were reissues of Sun recordings, predominantly by Johnny Cash. The VJ “reissue” of HTBTA is the more dubious, since the album labels have washed out ring colors more akin to counterfeit “Introducing…” LP’s. I bought this same version when it was being recirculated.

As a side note, Charly also reissued George Martin’s “Off The Beatle Track” insttrumental LP.

Let me know if you want me to keep aside my second copy of the VJ Hear.Only the third I've come across in 45+ years of recollecting "our boys",the Fabs.Oh,our illustrious Andre Gardiner (WMGK 102.9,Philly)was letgo because of budget restraints with Beasley Media Group,which owns the station.He WAS the station.25-30 years in radio,mostly, there.Ill never listen to them again.Beatlefreak that he was.His Beatles show(which he ended in 2022,too much prep,and was devoting more time at home)was much better than the other indies out there.He really got into the mix variations.I guess the Christmas Eve with the Beatles is cancelled,too.He had that every year,too

Do the bootleg versions have poor sound? I think I had a copy from a cutout bin back in the early eighties. I don't know what it was. I think it was on the VJ label. It doesn't matter now. Just curious to what the sound difference is with an official copy.

Those fake records are interesting and amusing. At least you were able to listen to the album, when all you had were the fake ones, but now you have the real deal. It looks great. I wonder if there are any more "Charly" fake Beatles records out there. Maybe they released "Something Gnu!"
