@DJPain1Ай бұрын
there's a blacklist database that all producers have access to that automatically bans rappers who do bad business from wasting our time?
@BOOMBAPXLАй бұрын
@@DJPain1 No, but we must all keep our own personal one. Not every producer/beatmaker knows their worth, and some (probably many) may accept the bs terms presented, to each their own. But imo if you’re an artist that doesnt respect the role of a producer/beatmaker, you’re automatically not an artist worth workin with🤷🏽♂️

Artists/producers should do like me. I focus on making måney every day and to learn the right mindsets. Then make music in the weekends. It is important we have a businåess mindset because just making music without that, is very hard.

I want to sign up for the Toolost label plan. However, I have one question: When doing splits, can I simply enter the artist's banking information so they receive their splits without needing to create an account as well?

If your an in studio talent under a work for hire contract you may not get parts of the final product. You may sign those rights away when you sign the work for hire contract..

There's a HUGE difference between a programmer (beat maker) and a Producer. Producers voice coach, compose and arrange, and take care of all elements that make a song PRODUCTIVE. We producers pay for the musicians, MIxes (if we don't do it ourselves) and more. Great video!
@crnkmnkyАй бұрын
Unfortunately, a lot of modern productions don't work like that. When everything is done remotely via email and webcam, a lot of that collaboration and interaction can get lost. It's like two separate productions, just mixed together. My brother leases beats, and then produces his own vocals. By the time he's done chopping and remixing everything in Ableton, I'd say he rightfully deserves a co-credit. But then the beat producer doesn't like the music video, and doesn't want his name associated with it. 😸 I'm so used to rap folks using "beatmaker" and "producer" interchangeably. I keep forgetting how the credited producers on all of the classic Ruff Ryders tracks were whoever supervised and directed the recording session, not _necessarily_ the guy who programmed the sampler. But other than Irv Gotti, there was usually an overlap.
@dan_tannaАй бұрын
@@crnkmnky Irv was the executive producer, Swiss was the music producer.
@crnkmnkyАй бұрын
@@dan_tanna I must be thinking of something else. There were multiple instances where Irv got top billing as track producer, while someone like 7 Aurelius was demoted to co-producer or instrument performer. I swear the lines between composer, musician, arranger, and producer are blurry. They shift depending on what the people above you think they can get away with. Always been that way. #GregPhillinganes
@dan_tannaАй бұрын
@@crnkmnky Well, you don't have to make beats to produce (compose and arrange) JUst hire the musicians or beatmaker and pick the elements you like in the song you're creating. Again... Real producers pay the costs to make things productive. The root word for productive is produce IJS
