I bought the Lil Wayne black and red editions on EBay in 2016 for $125 brand new sealed and everything. At first I thought that they were fake because the price was too good and they were retailing for $449 when they first came out and the seller told me they are real 100% trust me. He wasn’t lying that was a steal and they are still in outstanding condition till this day. My dumbass also bought these exact same headphones last year through apple’s website before they pretty much stopped selling them and guess what?? They’re still in the box sealed because I have so many other pairs of Studio headphones and AirPods Pro Max I didn’t need them and yet still bought them. But you’re right they are a classic pair of headphones and if you owned these back in 2010-2015 you were a god among men.

The biggest issues that they need to change if they bring them back, is first, make them over the ear headphones. These are not over the ear headphones. They're on the ear headphones which is why (along with the weight and the clamp) they hurt your ears rather quickly as the circle in the ear cups press against your ears instead of going over the the ears like the OG Beats studio headphones. The second thing they should change is the clamp force. That may be due to the aluminum and the weight, but they can get past that by using different materials. The last thing is, make it so that changing the the headband doesn't require you to solder the headphone cable back onto the speakers.

these along with the mixrs are, imo, the best headphones to ever come from beats. The bass isn't ridiculously overpowered like the rest of the beats lineup and theyre no longer being manufactured (probably because apple is focusing on wireless, apple AirPods MAX $$$) so there's a bit of a cool, rare status in owning a pair.

I've had my Mixr's for like 8 yrs now and they've been so good to me. Unfortunately even though both speakers are working it's only playing the left side on both of them so I need to take it apart and try and repair it, and if all else fails I'll look into the pro's for replacement

They came out roughly 10 years and there SOLID. I have mine still but while recording with a friend, they sat on them accidently and now the left rotates all the way around and doesn't work now. Currently looking to get them restored. I learned if you type "2010 beats pro headphones" you will get way better results.

Years later I ended up buying the Lil Wayne version on EBay and the seller said they are 100% legit and if you’re not satisfied send it back and I will refund you every dime. I use a pro master tripod with a tilt head adjustment. Whole thing is about $200 Early on I just used a cheap tripod and had to awkwardly do carefully move around it: there’s a lot of footage that shakes that I have to cut out, from when I used to bump the tripod a lot

Still my favorite headphones. Got the all blacks but miss the original chrome/black/red that got worn out. Sound amazing for most genres, especially hiphop/pop and contemporary music. Shame they got discontinued and only have one color now. They are definitely uncomfortable after long periods of wearing them though.

Insane pair of headphones. The best feature in my opinion is how you can make hoops through the dual jacks, so you can share your listening experience as long as the other guy has a 3.5mm jack. Perfect design, perfect material, too bad about the ear cuffs but... what can you do. I'm so tired of bluetooth headsets, these babies knock em' outta the park.

I have had mine for 10 years. They still technically work, but the sliding mechanism for one of the sides is broken, they are also very loose and the cups got completely ripped to shreds over time. The sounds quality also just kind of sucks specially when compared to budget options nowadays. Definitely not worth the $300+ I spent on them back in the day.

I collect these Beats Pro. These are the best sounding headphone Beats Ever created. There was 3 versions of these. 1st was Monster Beats Pro - Clear bass loud and crisp, 2nd Beats Pro By Dre (non Monster) increased Bass and highs, 3rd Beats Pro Apple when apple bought beats they still produced these at their factories and Apple decreased bass 😢. I yet till have to get the PINK Beats Pro Nicki version. Again Best Sounding Beats Ever Created.

@@weareanonymous1802 hey! Well I do not like the sound the Beats Pro Apple Infinite black as they lack deep sub bass. My favorite are the Beats Pro that have the”Pro” on the left and right outside hinge. The ones with the Monster logo sound more refined but don’t get as loud as the ones with the “Pro” logo I recently got the limited edition pink Friday Nicki Minaj ones and those are my fav. It’s too bad that Apple has changed the way beats sounds, Apple to me sounds very bland, and there’s no excitement to their sound signature with their AirPods line up. Hope this helps!

@@weareanonymous1802 hey! No so the colors do not change sound. The Monster ones are more refined, the ones with “Pro” on them are the best. Then the Apple “Pro” have less bass but okay. I collect these Beats Pro as they are a legendary headphone no longer in production.

As now in 2022 I still love my Beats Pro (I have both Monster and Apple versions). I highly and I mean highly enjoy lol using and listening to other favorite headphones from makers of Audeze, Hifiman, Denon, Stax, Meze, and a few others. I've always know of Beats products in general but some how never decided to buy them until a person that overheard my conversation about top tier headphones and amplifiers and asked me have I heard the Beats and offered me to try them for no charge, the pro model in particular. The short version of this is I tried them on a series of well regarded headphone amplifiers and other equipment and many of the falsehoods that I've heard or read about them went straight out the window, they've earned to this day a place in my "rocking out" closed back cans right next to my Denons, Ultrasones, and Sony's. Any sincere questions ask away. ✌️

@@cjskarting7707 Greetings, for the short version of what I've found out from close comparisons of my Beats and other owners Beats is that the Apple versions (stock form) had a slightly more forward midrange with slightly but noticeable layering as opposed to the monster versions but most people probably won't notice this even on expensive equipment.

​​​@@plaindonutt I still have both the Monster and Apple versions, I've heard many reviews that suggested that the only change that was made were logos not driver tweakage. With my series of different amplifiers and other components I've clearly noticed that upper and lower mids are better layered and slightly more forward but you may not notice a big change if you're not critically listening to music or listening to music that isn't midrange dominant. Power handling and sensitivity pretty much the same. I will say this thou the Beats Mixrs midrange is more similar in imaging and tonal quality to the Monster Beats Pro than the Apple versions.

These are highly recommended for professional studio use. I still use these for radio broadcasting as they are rich and are in real time. You do not want to use wireless headphones for recording, broadcast and DJ use due to any form of latency. Just like professional fight gaming... you will always want to use a wired fight stick/controller in tournaments for no latency. These headphones are my go to when it comes to sound reference. im guessing the beats pro are in a similar thing as the mac pros. They don't carry them physically in stores because its not meant for their typical consumer. Hence why beats official website doesn't show them because they want people to buy the other ones. They try to save these for more production and for "professionals" similar to the mac pro, its only able to be bought off apple's website, anywhere else someone already customized it and bought it and reselling it or it was refurbished by apple.

I purchased the original Beats over the ear headphones that had the batteries for noise cancelling and loved the sound over the comparable Bose at the time that sounded so dull in comparison. The thing I realized after that is that you can’t hear anything outside bet everyone can hear what you were listening to. So about 2 or 3 years after I purchased the Beats Pro in silver and I loved them. They had enough insulation from outside noise and when listening to them people around you could not hear them. Then they came out with the same ones in black so I had to have them. I still love them but I only use them with my high end stereo equipment at home and never outside.

I bought these exact same ones last year and guess what? I’ve never used them. Yes call me loco but I have the Lil Wayne Beats pro edition that I still use and have 7 pairs of beats studio wireless 3’s. Yeah I’m not kidding you at all I really do all authentic and all on sale when I bought them. And what’s more hilarious is that I have both pairs of Beats executive headphones the grey version and black version. I bought a pair when I was a senior in high school because everyone on the team was one uping each other with headphones. I found them to be super durable, except for the cups is wearing out. One thing I hate about them is the clamping force, if your ears are not in the right position they start hurting real quick. Like Ryan said, dont buy these for daily music use.

I’m having a beats pro since 2012 till now, i barely use it, less than 20 times and the sound aside, build quality is just bad, after a year and a half, the leather start flaking off, the cable’s rubber just doing “apple’s cable” thing after 2 years. I personally own both Monsters and the Apple versions, some credible reviewers stated that the Apple's version bass has been toned down but in my observation on amps/portables that pairs with it well I noticed the upper and lower midrange shelf is better layered (images) and slightly more forward. However I wouldn't be surprised if some people never noticed it. The Monster Mixrs model mids sounds closer to the Monster Beats Pro than the Apple's models.

Thanks Dude Very professional review, I'm a musician and an audiophile and tried a lot of good headphones, it definitely don't worth the price but I consider it now in 2021 just for nostalgia. I remember back in the day in 2010 I wanted it very bad cuz I seen every rap artist wears it as you said "it's like a necklace". it was cool and stylish even tho i know that it's not worth the price and the sound quality and the comfort aren't that great. for half the price you can get a much better Sony or a Sennheiser or AKG or Pioneer.....in every aspect.

In terms of Recording/Mixing, these aren't exactly what you'd want. I'd look at sennheiser's HD600, something by Ultrasone, or if you're willing to drop the $$ - Audeze LCD-X. BUT - these can be good in a studio environment too, in terms of referencing - checking your mix to see what it might sound like in a club environment as a dj. Useful if you make EDM or Hip Hop for sure. And the build quality is great too. I ultimately returned them and bought a set of Ultrasone pro900 headphones, which are very nice sounding for those genres as well, but are a little more useful in the studio. Just my 2 cents.

@People of Dundee Society usually beats are just fasion statement they are just cheap but with high price because of style .. BUT THE PRO'S are made with monster tech they are actual high quality headphones thats why so many DJ's were using them ... they are ACTUALLY good. I've had mine When Dre/Monster released them and they are still new in box. I love them in silver and white and used to plug them into my phone back when phones had auxiliary jack. Now they just sit in my closet. I'm wondering if there is a Bluetooth adapter to make it work.

Yes you can use a Bluetooth receiver with 3.5mm headphone jack, sony makes a few like the Sony SBH24, you can also look into the Voxoa BTunes adapter

I had the lil wayne edition beats pros a long time ago there fossils now but i used them for xbox and music at school because schools wouldn’t allow headphones so during class i would use them they dont make them anymore after beats bought them out because exactly what you said there not comfortable for long periods of time and they were a producer apper must have for that reason you explained but they were also a public display of money if you had money you would spend the $400 on headphones just like with airpods these are gen 1 pods to the max with the price doubled when everybody used the regular apple wired headphones they are great headphones but only suggested to a number of people who like the brand and dont get headaches

I have to disagree, they are definitely for consumers and the marketing was for consumers back in the day. No one in their right mind doing actual studio work would use beats pro lol. Labeling them "studio" was just a marketing term. Don't know why you wouldn't use them with your phone the drivers are designed with to work well without an amp (coming back to the fact that these are just basic non-studio headphones. For anyone wondering about the sound, it isn't bad! The bass is definitely oversaturated and kind of muddy to a point, far off from the flat sound profile audio purists love (another reason these are not "studio" grade,) in the ears of the general consumer these headphones would sound 8/10. Audio purists would most likely rate them 3/10. Interestingly, some of the fake/knockoffs are spot on in build material and sound to the original somehow. I own a pair of $90 fakes and $400 legit and literally weight, material, and sound is the same. I wonder if the factory somehow undercut monster back in the day and sold them on the black market. It was a really interesting time, and monster showed the world marketing can sell a half assed product for a premium price.

I have been using these for my studio, after I make a tune on my monitors suring the day, I then arrange the track at night, I use these headphones, and trust me thay are absolute dynamite. I'm not saying that you can make a tune on them, but once you have your sounds correct via your monitors, for night time arranging these are just absolutely great.
