Bad Larry it’s not for everyone. New deck with harness, dash kit to retain factory backup camera, and steering wheel controls will cost about $1000. It will also come with aftermarket plastic trim that will not look anything factory. But it will come with a nicer screen and sharper image quality. Take your pick.

There’s two ways to achieve this: 1. keep the factory radio on fm/am mode then go to android auto mode. Doing this way won’t allow turn by turn voice to be heard. 2. Download a radio application that is compatible with android auto such as iheartradio.

However, note that the product will come looking like it does not fit in the box properly. (Imagine PS4 game console arriving with all the controllers, power supply, and video cables pre-connected). Stupid question: My partner uses android and I use iPhone. does the system accept both? i.e. can I use it with my phone one day and then let my partner use her phone on a separate trip?

Just installed this and I am having a few issues. 1st is the carplay screen is shifted to the left, cutting off a 1/4 of the icons (time, home button). 2nd the quality does not look like it does in the above video. the black background is more grey. 3rd "hey siri text bob" works, but if she needs to reply to ask "what do you want to say to bob" the microphone does not activate. 4th issue. used siri to call bob. can hear audio of bob talking to me through car speakers, but bob cant hear me.

Its PaPPy on your dip switch configuration add a 7 to the ON position in addition to what you have already turned on. Go to your factory backup camera picture settings to to change the screen for a better look, and make sure the microphone cable is connected properly. The cable is part of the main harness which can be easily missed. Also if you haven’t already do not forget to tune the carplay volume and set your phone settings call audio routing to Bluetooth headset as indicated on the instruction manual. Yes, this is compatible with the JBL System, and when you reverse while using Carplay, the reverse camera will show.
