Nice reaction! There are so many talented, yet largely unknown bands out there! If you want another excellent suggestion: try the band Others By No One... their longest song, “Dr. Breacher and the Time Travel Anomaly” is quite simply phenomenal. The singer’s voice is so versatile, and the music, oh the music. Also their somewhat shorter songs “Death of a Clone” (ca. 10 min.) and “Brand-New Remedy” (6 min.) definitely leave the listener hungry for more. If you want fresh, adventurous, new prog metal, this is for you. Think of a combination of Between The Burried And Me, Queen, Native Construct, Mr. Bungle... Others By No One (like another brilliant, too unknown gem of a band called Native Construct) has me hooked for about a year now I guess. Anyway, I hope you’ll try them, or Native Construct, some time. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻

Wow, that's a flashy shirt! :D The music's not my cuppa but I like the cover art. The flying people circling around the Moon remind me of a french artist whose name eludes me right now. He was famous for one of his works being used as a jingle on french TV back in the 70s & 80s. I loved that snippet of animation as a kid, it was very poetic. Gah, I wish I could remember his name! Damn brain...

I knew you'd enjoy Graves. Such a fantastic song. Pain of Salvation deserves another listen, too. Flame to the Moth is not the best introduction to their sound. Please do yourself a favour and listen to one of these: - Iter Impius / Martius Nauticus II - Nightmist (live version from Ending Themes) - Enter Rain - Beyond the Pale There's a lot more to recommend, but you have to start somewhere and many songs are at their best in context of the whole album.

Salut Jim, sincere & tasty reviewer ! Loved your reactions on tiny different details and parts of this pure "chef d'oeuvre". I didn't know your channel until now. You got a radio voice (maybe you already work in the field...). Anyway, as many viewers, I have my advices to deliver. Check "Slave" by LEPROUS but the "Live at Rockefeller Centre" version (!!!). Absolutely adrenalinizing and powerful piece of performance on stage (an the young drummer Baard Kolstad, is insolently inventive and powerful). Check also BIG BIG TRAIN "East coast racer", especially from 5:40 when begins a crescendo reaching an overwhelming finale. The question is : How did BBC manage to write such a sensitive and epic song about... a simple train??? Magic. Thank you and keep on going, Jim.

You should listen to Petty Troubles by Matt Montgomery and Brian Adam McCune. It's 5 songs but it's only 21 minutes in total. The whole thing was recorded in one day with an orchestra that had just come together for the day. They released a youtube video a few years after its release talking about the process. It is such a beautiful orchestration and they are almost completely unheard of. Now that I think of it, you can watch the performance itself on youtube along with the music.
