I have the exact same bandsaw and I have been meaning to make a larger outfeed table and fence but I needed your concept to motivate me . Off to the shop ! Thank You for taking the time and doing all the work to share it . The aluminum fence you used can be found at Harbor Freight also in different lengths , they can be disassembled, cut to custom size and reassembled with minimum mechanical skill.

I wondered if those clamps could be shortened. Good to know. Thx!

Couple of upgrade suggestions - add two self adhesive measuring tapesto each ends of the table to make it easier to set up fence straight. Add higher fence, screwed to straight edge, to cut taller pieces. Route slot for strip to hold adjustable circle guide using shelf pins epoxies in strip for adjustable center.

I am going to make a fence identical to this one. MDF 3/4 inch 2 foot by 4 foot can be purchased from Menard's for about 12 bucks and I got the 4 1/2 foot saw guide from Harbor freight for about 13 bucks with coupon. I plan on coating with clear poly spray or paint to keep the board from drawing moisture.

I live in Florida and MDF destroys itself, even in the garage, due to humidity. It's pretty much unusable here. :/ I might spring for some high-end plywood.

There is a great store called Imeca, see if they have one near you, they have really good cabinetmakers plywood at really good prices.

The table is cool. Build a couple of sleds too, I use my cross-cut sled like crazy.

ya that's fair. What I was planning on doing was taking about 6 inches off the long part of the board, and cutting it into two 3 inch strips. Mounting those two boards together for a 1.5 inch solid straight fence, and attaching it to miter gauge. Routing out a channel in the rear for the guage and boom done. However...I got lazy and went with the straight edge :D

This is great I have a saw that is almost identical to this one. All of the other videos I was looking at were not so compatible with it. Thanks for making this video. 👍

Tip for future videos. I subscribe to the bottom line up front (BLUF) for presentations. Start video showing the final product and operation demonstration. Then go into how to build it. This will save time for your audience. If the beginning doesn't interest them, they won't waste time watching the step by step build.

that's great and funny as hell. just found a 50's Craftsman bandsaw and have NEVER used one til day before yesterday. making open mortis and tenon awning windows and the bandsaw made it oh so simple.

Noticed you got a bandsaw like I do. Do you have any issues with the tilt lock slipping and tilting during use? If so did you find a solution to fix it? Awesome video and thanks!

The walnut didn't bind while you were ripping it because of warping - there was a paper sticker on the side of the piece which was passing through the jig.

Dude! You didn't build a fence. You built a table! You BOUGHT a fence and clamped it to the table. You should change the title of this video so people who need a fence won't waste time watching this crap.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I was so psyched as this guy has the same type of bandsaw as I do, and I was interested to find out how he was going to build a fence to integrate the strange L-shaped channel on the front of the table, but he bypassed it all together and just made a lame flat board table. And he didn't even really make a fence for it. Big fail all around.

You could have just left the table saw as it was and bought the 24'' harbor freight clamp for $10
@EricRoy855 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking, but you can benefit from the outfeed portion of the table

That table is bigger than 24in. I have that saw & wanted to use those small HF clamps also
@scottbyrd215713 күн бұрын
@@tluva1020the original table is like 28 inches. Take the HF bar clamp and get powertech aluminum T track that’s 3x36”. Attach to bar clamp, than you can add higher fence, and stops.
