BEAUTIFUL 1987 Otis Elevonic 401 Traction Elevators at The Lexington Financial Center, Lexington, KY

It's been a while since I've seen a Elevonic 401 system!!! I'm VERY Glad that I FINALLY got the chance to ride one of my favorite elevator models ever once again!!!! Located at the tallest building in Lexington, lies these BEAUTIFUL Otis Elevonic 401 Elevators with CHROME BRASS Series 1 Fixtures, REALLY NICE and COOL Curved Doors, a NICE, TALL Mirrored and Fake Wood Cab, and 80s "Las Vegas style" lighting!!! Not to mention, these also feature everyone's FAVORITE Grandma Voice, that also GREETS you into the building, as well as certain banking levels as well!!!! VERY VERY COOL!!! (Although not the most talkative 401s I've seen, that title goes to Columbia Center Seattle and Canada Place Parking Vancouver) These also feature the Smooth, albeit VERY FUN Ride Quality Elevonic 401s have to offer!!! Overall, just a VERY FUN and BEAUTIFUL Elevator System with a good amount of character, that was VERY AHEAD of its' time being that Otis was able to pull off fully computerized elevators more than 30, in fact, almost 40 YEARS ago!!!! That all being said, enjoy the video of these VERY BEAUTIFUL, High Rise Otis Elevonic 401 Elevators with Older Otis Series 1 fixtures, in Lexington's tallest building, going up at a Speed of around 800-1000 FPM!!!

Yay we have another grandma Otis. I bet they custom recorded the welcome message. As grandma gets rarer I think we will be seeing her move into more people’s home. I was recently told why the 401s are getting modded and that is because of the fact they have 3 on board mini controllers and if any chip fails on them the whole elevator breaks. And with them having 30 year old chips failure is pretty common. These seem like they are well maintained. Now I want to go here lol.

Yeah, I was told by Andrew the reason why so many 401s are being modded os because they're too proprietary, they are becoming hard to get parts for, and since most of them are installed in High Rise Class A Office Buildings and 4 and 5 Star Hotels, the buildings need to modernize as they can't have 30-35 year old or older elevator systems if they want to retain their status. Almost all of the few High Rise Office Buildings I've seen that still have their original elevators from before the 80s have gone down to being Class B Buildings.
