In the words of Terrell Owens, "Get your popcorn ready" 🍿 Band-Maid is simply the best band of this generation. They create music with real instruments that is extremely catchy that anyone can sing or hum along to, yet adds depth and nuance typically reserved for talents that are more concerned with self-indulgence for the musician rather than what sounds best. And somehow, this unique ability isn't limited to one sub-genre, but every combination of rock, punk, metal and pop imaginable. They bring a level of skill and talent without ego across the entire rock spectrum. The diversity in their music is only rivaled by history's greats like the Beatles or Queen. For these reasons they are head and shoulders above their contemporaries.

Before Covid hit, they were due to play Budokan, but crushingly it was cancelled. They played Saitama Arena as support to GNR last year and then had their own show in Tokyo Garden Theatre in January. They are playing Yokohama as the culmination of their 10th Anniversary tour in October

Unfortunately, they have yet to play shows on the scale of Babymetal. Aside from festivals, their January show at the Tokyo Garden Theater was their biggest yet with 8000 people. However, this will change at the end of this year on November 26, when they will perform at the Yokohama Arena. And I sincerely wish that the place will be sold out to the rafters. If you listen again, MISA the bassist isn't playing a standard bass line. The entire song she is actually playing a lead line, while Kanami and Miku play the rhythm line except for Kanami's solo. Also at the beginning of the song Kanami walked up to Miku and was miming singing along with her, because at a previous performance Miku had sung the wrong verse. When Miku's verse comes up, you can see Kanami run back up quickly and sit on Miku's monitor speaker and give her a look, and you can see Miku giver her a side eye look of "Really?", then get back to finishing her verse. To this day Kanami trolls Miku during this song, and at times MISA and Saiki will also join in to troll Miku and stare her down as she sings her verse. Now for the 🍿 Band Maid's music makes my ears happy.

The largest solo concert they had was at Tokyo Garden Theater (Jan. 2023) with 8000, the largest crowd they had was at Welcome to Rockville (May 2023, Daytona, FL) with 20000+. Their 10th anniversary tour final is at Yokohama arena (Nov. 2023) with 17000 capacity😉

Other than outdoor festivals, the largest solo show they've ever played was last February at Tokyo Garden Theater, about 8000 people and they sold out. They mostly play venues of 500 to 2000. I saw them at St Andrews Hall in Detroit and the audience maybe 700-800. Two days later I saw them at a small stage at Sonic Temple. They did play to huge crowd at "Welcome to Rockville" at Daytona Speedway. They are ending their Tenth Anniversary Tour in November at Yokohama Arena which I believe can accommodate 17,000.

They have never played at Budokan. They were going to (and were very excited about it), but it got cancelled due to covid. They did a live stream instead to cheer up their disappointed fans. (The highpoint of their career just got cancelled, and they cared more about their fans!) The beautiful ballad "About Us" from that concert is available on their channel. (It is about all of us and the trouble at the time, the lyrics are fantastic)

Hi Flatley -Seen them in Houston Tx on May 14th and they blew my mind live in concert was such a blessing to my ears .They played a 20 song set -started with Domination and ended with Endless Story -Love Bandmaid -Rock on ❤🎉😮

For the past decade, their venues have been medium sizes, like Zepp and Namba Hatch. But this year, for their 10th-anniversary tour, the last venue is Yokohama Stadium. So, you can tell how their fan base has grown over the past 10 years!! Luckily, I got myself a ticket for the show in Yokohama!!

🍿As an old school headbanger(started on Judas Priest & Black Sabbath in the 70's), I really appreciate the talent these ladies have. Even more impressive after I learned that Saiki (lead singer) had throat surgery and that Miku stepped down from lead vocals and started to learn guitar under Kanami(lead guitarist). Some really super hard rock/metal that is helping to keep my blood pumping...Great group to react with Flatley---I would suggest "Unleash"(if you like anime) or "Domination" live for some of their next reactions.

🍿 Great band. Even in the US they're selling out the 2k-2500 seat theatres for the whole tour. I saw them in Atlanta. The ticket lady came down the line and said they had only two VIP upgrades left upstairs and sold them to a couple next to us. That being done, they were able to admit two last walk ups for general admission before it hit their 1800 person capacity. Fun show from front to back and I took my wife and 12 year old girl. 👍

The acoustic songs, the Band-Maiko songs, the Genshin Impact concert, and other magical moments within their music. 🍿 + 🧱 Funny you mentioned Yokohama arena. That’s where Band-Maid will perform their final show of this 10th anniversary tour! You’ve noticed one of the “Band-Maid Things:” the balanced arrangements. I think it’s part humility, part Mincho genius. She obviously believes that no instrument (or musician) is more important than another. The fact she has such capable players around her makes it easier. In “Domination,” everyone gets in on the action. Little Miku even gets a rare rhythm guitar solo part. She has one in “Onset” live instrumental also.

Flatley, I've been a big Band Maid for three years. I have had my favorite videos, "Manners/Black Hole", "Moratorium", "Domination" and "Freedom", of course. I song I recently discovered is "Screaming". It's a banger!!! Since the song is on their newest EP, it will be hard to find and react to, but it is worth it. How can you not love Band Maid? Especially, Mincho the Tiny Terror. Yes, it's been said by the girls she's the most "intense" and driven when it comes to "the work". They all love to troll Akane, but Mincho, because she's Miku's guitar sensei, loves to troll her. I commend your decision to listen to the whole discography before getting to the lives shows. when that time comes find a fancam video from the Sonic Temple festival, the whole show they were on fire. the whole tour they just keep getting better and better. 🍿🍿I dont mean to offend anyone when i say this but.....Babymetal is a gimmick and yes i know BM's outfits are a gimmick...but thats where it stops...Babymetal is 3 young almost teenage looking girls who just sing...The band backing them is good dont get me wrong but if they didnt have the 3 girls I dont think anyone would pay attention to them at all....Lovebites is a very good if not great pure Iron Maiden type metal band.. all females, all playing... Nemophila & The Warning (Mexico) are other great all female bands...Sorry for the rant but it had to be said..Great Reaction again...Maidiacs Unite!!!
