Overall the game is a big disappointment, but there's some (not many) nice songs in it. Might do a few videos, but we'll see.

At least its non-relative chord names - is that a choice in game? Looks like I would need to spend some time learning these new patterns in the charts, like the purple wall on the left to denote finger 1 placement. Whats the sub like? How much? Worth it?

Not an option in the game, no. $14.99, $39.99, and $99.99 for 1 month, 3 months or 1 year. As it is right now, definitely not worth it mainly because of the song list. It's terrible really with only a handful of good stuff among the 5-8k song you have available in your country (need a VPN to get access to everything). And most of those songs do not have proper arrangements and it's only AI generated chord arrangements. The tones are definitely better in this when it comes to clean and somewhat distorted tones. But heavier tones can be just as bad as many of the official tones from 2014. The tone in Master of Puppets is just noisy as fuck and barely sounds like the song. You also can't make your own tones and use, you are stuck with whatever the song gives you.
