Ohhhh, how beautiful is this? Really enjoyed a postcard and a pint wander around some of the most beautiful towns! Bakewell is very much up there, love to see it, mind you the Peaks are so beautiful. Epic culinary options on display, so cool to see and hear about the Bakewell Puddings. That Chutney looked so yummy! Stunning Allsaints church, beautiful architecture from the 1840s, what incredible history. Loved watching the Bakewell pie/pudding taste test, it looks yum! I was just about to say it looks like a pastel de nata? lol! Yummy though! I'm really liking the streets and the Georgian and Victorian buildings. Beautiful. What a lovely video, we haven’t properly explored Bakewell as when we visited it was a whistle stop pop in. Looks like it’s well worth a look around, that sweet shop looked brilliant. Totally get the traffic challenge too! (Think that’s why I missed it out when we last went to the Peak District). We love the Peak District, Chatsworth house is epic. We really want to visit Chatsworth house and Haddon hall and the cave nearby! We definitely need to go back on other time. We'll try it out of season I think just to see, but it was a shame it was a bottle neck for traffic! Cheers for watching 🍻

It was great food at the pudding shop, highly recommend it! Fanny Pitt was the highlight of my day and well worth £6.50. It was very touristy, but with tourists you get a good high street with lots of businesses! The puddings were great and the weather even better. They're such a cute couple are the Grape Sodas, it was lovely to meet them. Cheers 🍻

Hey guys, We watched this on Sunday night after returning from a weekend away with Pete's sister, so apologies for the late comment, we will get our you tube act together one of these days😂🙈. Bakewell looked idyllic, chocolate box was right Wills, and as we would say, it was very 'Twee'. Pete has visited before when he went mountain bike riding around that area, but i have never been, so i have made him promise to take me one day so i can experience the delights of a bakewell pudding, and maybe even a bakewell Gin too! 😋🍸. Fanny pit had us in stitches!😂😂. Cute little museum. We are big fans of a bakewell tart, but never heard of the pudding, loved the story of how it came to be! It looked like it might taste similar to a pastel de nata maybe? Either way, it looked yummy! Much better warmed up, don't mind us Wills, you finish your pudding😂🍮👌. Bakewell is on our list to visit and you've certainly made it look like a really pretty place for a wander. They can keep their Bakewell Tarts though as the taste offends me lol. The cafe looked amazing as did your lunch. I'm pleased to hear there are some pedestrianised streets as we recently visited Skipton and it was awful with the volume of traffic. I have been to Bakewell thanks to friends who live in the midlands and who were shocked that I had never heard of a Bakewell tart! The pudding wasn't mentioned and I think I would have preferred the pudding, I'm not fond of icing (too sweet!) The town of Bakewell is lovely, very picture postcard rural Britain, from memory I think we got a dreary rainy day, seeing it in bright sunshine, it really is gorgeous.

I used to bake Bakewell Tarts - sadly the recipe I used is lost. I’ve not found one that matches it. Mine was an old one and I find the ‘updated’ versions just don’t taste the same. I live about an hour's drive from Bakewell so I've been there many times. Once, before I was born, my mum went there with the rest of the family, and as was the custom, they'd all dressed in their Sunday best, my mum being particularly proud of her new white shoes. Down by the river, a discussion started about what was the best way to call ducks, i.e. if you say "chi chi chi chi" to a cat, what do you say to a duck? Mum thought she'd read that it was "biddy biddy biddy biddy", so to prove her point, she went up to the largest duck in sight and said "biddy biddy biddy biddy". The duck looked at her in horror, squawked loudly, and ran right across her feet, emptying it's bowels as it did so, leaving mum standing there with her new white shoes covered in duck sh*t. My uncles nearly choked laughing. She had to go to the ladies and try her best to clean them up. The family teased her for the rest of her life about her "duck charming" abilities any time Bakewell or ducks were mentioned...🤣

Good to see you're branching out into land lubber videos. There is a real need for videos about what to see and do in Great Britain. Have you thought of doing something in Wales perhaps? North Wales looks nice. So a fanny pitt is like an arm pit for the... Yes. Funnily enough Bakewell tarts are something I am familiar with. Our local supermarket carries Mrs Kipling's Bakewell Tarts and they are delish. I so want to try one of those Bakewell puddings but. When I saw this video come up I thought it was Bakelite puddings and that didn't really sound appealing. It's a bit like eating an old phone I suspect.

I know! There's a real shortage of U.K. vlogs, especially North Wales, it doesn't look a bad place at all! Fanny in the U.K. is not the same as USA - god knows what it is in Oz, but made us laugh! unbelievable , buxton has a pud try it another better town too ,nothing really special about my town its a town, nice video though its bottled all the time from easter due to visitors all the time being pushed to come here , it used to be quieter years ago , and prices of food and drink keeps rising due to tourists

Bakewell is lovely, there are a lot of towns that have so many empty units and no facilities these days. @@PostcardAndAPint yes Buxton has a pudding with jam in it another traveller put it out there on his visiting video ,it's quite tasty I believe I shall have to try and find video to share it again I love Buxton more as more choice of shops and not too over crowded as my town of Bakewell , it's now too much tourists that locals are pushed out , my hubby wanted to pass some at crossing a week ago to go to manners and got told to walk past in the road off pavement he's 78 ,some people have no manners but feel entitled to treat locals without respect he just managed to push through in end from another kind person , this is what we are up against now it's getting worse with tourists , but as you say it keeps shops open
