It's great to see a new generation of trishaw riders that are doing a good job introducing interesting places of George Town to the tourists. Both of you looked like you had a great time. That Michael Jackson impersonation got me laughing real hard!😂

hi debbie, you are not a tourist! you are a visitor, an extraordinary one. your knowledge of my little island and its history is astounding. born and bred here, penang was my home for 39 years. i now live in adelaide and call australia home. but penang, and all that it ever was and is, will always be home, inextricably. watching your hour-long video (actually a documentary) brought a tear to my right eye.i had nothing left to say. cheers.

Nice to see you enjoying yourselves, it's a great destination. Love those cats (real and artistic). Bit of history - Frances Light founded Penang and Georgetown and exactly fifty years later his son founded Adelaide. They're now sister cities.

Great video! I have Malaysia on my bucket list for this year with Georgetown at the top of must see places. Can I ask (I know this is a tricky question) do you see Malaysia as a place that feels safe and easy to navigate as a female solo traveller? I have been to Vietnam by myself and would love to go to Malaysia. Any thoughts would be amazing!
@vintagefoodfarmКүн бұрын
Yes you can!😁👍 It is a very safe place and very easy to get around. We totally recommend it. I actually think it is easier than Vietnam to navigate. There is so much authentic culture and the people are very lovely and extremely helpful and supportive. English is spoken almost everywhere so it really is easy and so interesting. You will love it!

Penang, Melaka & Singapore were straits states under the British.. At that time it was called Malaya. Malaya gained independence in 1957. Singapore was under Malaysia and left Malaysia in 1963. After that, Malaysian Borneo, Sabah & Sarawak joined Malaysia but Brunei refused.

Maximum high temperature between 12 afternoon to 4pm, always drink a lot of water and if you can find coconut water, that the best choice.

Additional trivia. City of George Town & Adelaide were declared sister cities in the early 1970s. Another link was established when the SA premier at that time Don Dunstan, married his 2nd wife who was from Penang in 1976.
