one of the best explanations of simply outlining chord changes and how to implement your own style rather than memorization i have seen and he deserves so much more support

I love the micro-lesson concept. A small bite sized idea to add to the tool kit. So helpful and readily absorbed!!

This was really eye opening for me Brian. I actually think the root and fifth sound awesome in an ambient way. Thanks
@activemelody9 сағат бұрын
Yeah, that root / 5th sound is mysterious in a way. a lot of old time vocal harmonies use it - like the Carter Family. It's also common in southern gospel ... i'm not sure where i stand on it.. it definitely has it's place in music though!

Love your lessons about harmonization, I see it as a big part of the way to develop beautiful and sophisticated melodies. Thank for another great lesson and teach so good.

This is fantastic, exactly the sort of thing that is going to help me. I play lots of Americana/alt country songs at an open mic, just really basic campfire stuff. One song I love is Time Ain’t Nothing by Green On Red, I’ve struggled to try and work out an intro and little solo/bridge part, mainly because of my lack of music theory knowledge. I’ve managed to cobble something together after months of trying, but this should give me a more solid understanding of how to really make it work. Watching this I’m thinking, okay so that’s how to find the harmony’s to fit the chords of the song. If I study this I’m confident that it’s going to help in that respect. I really need to find a way to jiggle my finances so that I can become a paying active melody member again. Thanks for this.

A great lesson. Have tried to utilize the 6ths? And haven’t really grasped it. U have done a great job of making sense of what the changes are and adding the caged system to it. Thanks so much

I love these lessons! They’re so helpful to understand the fretboard! At 13:25 - that sounds for me like „silent night“ btw. That could be a suggestion for another lesson with this concept 🤔 - what do you mean…
