@@D54pod Movie is good. But you may not find it exceptional while watching today. It was a perfectly packed movie for its time with every elements to become a big comercial success. But not a movie to prioritize in watchlist today, I guess! Btw... I hope you haven't forgot my suggestion for Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha songs. (Chandanalepa Sugandham)

This song is beautifully revived and used in Mammootty's most recent theatrical release Abraham Ozler. The song features in the flashback portion of his character (which shows the 80's period). It's such a rare thing to happen and a testament to the amazing career longevity!

This is Sumalatha. Urvashi acts as her sister. Basically Mammootty is in jail for killing Sumalatha. And Urvashi is the journalist, who is also Sumalatha's sister, who is investigating this case.

This movie and yaathra movie are first movies in Malayalam where hero is having realistic prison hair cut. Mammootty is playing an advertisement company owner in death row for killing his ex wife who was a model. He was interviewed by urvashi. It had a rashomon narrative. Lead actress was Sumalatha, who is from Karnataka and is wife of Late Kannada super star Ambarish. She is most famous for playing Clara in Mohanlal's thoovaana thumpikal. This particular song won K S Chitra her first kerala state award for best singer.

Thanks for confirming the comment about the haircut! I saw that when I googled it. The other prison movies for Mammootty I have seen (Bhoothakkannadi and Munnariyippu) he doesn't have a prison haircut at all. Oh wow some Rashomon vibes... incredible. Like always thanks for providing all this context mate. I did not know this about Sumalatha as well.. The second Kannada actress I have seen (after Soundarya) during this time period.. and looks like she was married to the legend and iconic Ambarish! Great info about K S Chitra as well.. she voice was especially highlighted in this number so that makes sense.

@@D54pod police's hair cut and armed forces' hair cuts are also different, Commercial movies generally ignore proper haircuts since most heroes work in multiple projects at the same time or acts in movie schedules without break. Earlier heroes used to come out of jail with shaggy hair and beard.
