Hi!! Just wanted to pop in and say thanks so much for listening to this song and I’m happy that so many people are enjoying it! If you are someone who relates to this song heavily though, I 10000% recommend some kind of therapy 😭 I wrote this song during a time when I was seeking out therapy for having a lot of attachment issues / BPD adjacent symptoms, and after a lot of psych testing and a really cool therapist + psychiatrist, I got diagnosed with something else entirely! Certain attachment styles and other mental disorders can present themselves as volatile feelings and look a lot like BPD on the surface but can actually be quite a few different things, so please look into these feelings with professionals that you trust and stay safe! I am glad that I was able to write a vent piece that resonates with so many people, but I am also happy to report that these feelings are almost completely gone for me after quite a long while of experiencing them! 💖💖💖

@@Scarlet.Octopi I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which I was very unfamiliar with until it was explained to me more in depth. The BPD-like symptoms I was experiencing were very situational and I did not realize that it stemmed from deeper symptoms of autism like rejection sensitivity and tendencies to over-categorize. That mixed with a fearful-avoidant attachment style led to a lot of what I was experiencing. I learned that often (and esp for women) many mental health disorders can be misdiagnosed before receiving an autism diagnosis. I'd previously been misdiagnosed with things that I never felt quite right about, or things that I felt didn't fit what I was feeling, but after learning that I had autism and getting support from specialists and a therapist who specializes in ASD I feel like I finally understand myself and my feelings and I'm making a lot of progress in areas that I was previously very bad with!

As someone with cPTSD the part about wanting to love someone but it hurting hits so hard. I hate that the ones that I love are the ones I'm the most scared of, and this song makes me feel very seen. (cPTSD and BPD are very similar diagnosises and doctors often misdiagnose cPTSD as BPD)

As someone who also has cptsd this is so fucking true it hurts. I often feel like everyone wants to kill me, including people I love, and I fucking hate it. And about the cptsd and bpd mix up that professionals do, based on my experience of bringing up cptsd with my therapist after she diagnosed me with ptsd, she explained to me that apparently cptsd isn’t considered an official medical term, and thus isn’t used for diagnosis(and is why she only diagnosed me with ptsd along with clinical depression). Idk if any therapists you’ve met have said otherwise, tho if what my current therapist said is true, then cptsd SHOULD become an official medical term given it seems its exclusion has led to false bpd diagnosises (also it was funny realizing that cptsd and bpd are considered very similar given I had suspected I had bpd before getting diagnosed with ptsd)

I didn't realize that beautiful princess disorder was a slang name for BPD until after I fell in love with the song, and now I've gained a much greater understanding for the song as a whole. This realization made me reach back out to a friend who BPD that I used to be extremely close to. Thank you for making this song as otherwise I would've have not gone out of my way to check in on them.
