Maria, Wow!!!!! What more can you say!!!! What an amazing performance by Emma & April! This was absolute perfection!!! and this setting was breathtaking!. This location was done in Amsterdam, the Capital of the Netherlands. It was the liberation Concert, done in front of the Dutch Royal Family, on May 5, 2024. I don't know the exact location, maybe someone in the comments can verify. I agree Maria, This could not have been done any better, and not change a thing! Thank you for this nice reaction. Every time I listen to this song, I like it even more. The concert was in the canals of Amsterdam. A ponton was built in the middle of it and partly under a bridge where on the bridge, the orchestra was seated. It's a yearly reoccurring event to selebrete us being freed after WW II. It was in presence of the Dutch king and queen and several "important" people.

Also, with Emma, she is so good that they have to pair her up with mature adult singers. Nobody else could stay up with her. I loved this and loved how it was near the water and folks on boats were up near the stage. Awesome.

The event was the annual 5th of May Liberation concert to commemorate the liberation of the Netherlands from German occupation in WWII. The venue was the beautiful city of Amsterdam along the Amstel River, from which the city derives its name. I think what you mean when you say that Emma has a mature voice, is that she possesses technical skills and range significantly beyond her years. I would also say that she possesses a stage presence or charisma far beyond her years as well. She has obviously been gifted by nature tremendously. Shout out to my fellow American April Darby, who holds duel citizenship in the Netherlands. She was magnificent. This was a powerful performance in the presence of the King and Queen of the Netherlands. One that will be remembered for a very long time. Loved your reaction. Welcome to the Emma rabbit hole. April is an amarican born musical singer and 33 years old , Emma is 16 now . That performance was on our freedom memorial festival may 5 on a barge in Amsterdam .

Thank you for this reaction. I was just as surprised as you. This concert is a yearly event on our liberation day. It is on pontons on the river Amstel, that gave Amsterdam its name (Amstel re dam). Even more impressive: These two remarkable singers never performed together before. As Emma said in an interview the morning before the show that she met April that morning for the first time. They rehearsed the song 3 times and inmediately felt a connection and musical click. The results we saw. Earlier this year Emma was singing on a libaration memorial at Margraten, which is a WOII cemetary where over 8000 American soldiers are buried. She performed Father from Demi Levato and Hero from Mariah Carey. This is on the river Amstel in Amsterdam. By the way: at 06.59 you see our King Willem Alexander from the Netherlands and Princess Màxima. I am actually glad that Emma sings another song as "Voilà" here. No doubt it is the song which did put her "on the map", but she is capable of so much more. It would not be fair when she is only known as "the Voilà girl".

I prefer Lucy and sister Martha Thomas’s rendition much better! But Emma had my goosebumps running up and down my spine on this one! Wow! She could’ve done this as a solo and I wouldn’t have minded one bit! Never heard of Darby.

One thing this old man has noticed is nobody knows anything these days about SOUND. These singers are instructed to put that mic as close to their mouths as possible. It sounds awful to me. Muffled. You go watch SoHyang, that mic for her she keeps it 2-3” away from her mouth at all times. Someone needs to get their hearing fixed and stop teaching these singers to hold that mic so close. Just make a small circle with your dominate hand. Speak and bring it up to you lips. It gets muffled. As soon as you pull that away about an inch or two it clears up. I want to hear clear Vocals. Not muffled.
