Could you explain how to record stereo effects into the DAW? Wheter with a Loadbox or mics. :) Thank you!
@kebbinator2 жыл бұрын
To do it ‘correctly’ you need two amps, and you either put the pedal in the FX loop of both amps or you run your guitar into the pedal and the L and R outs to the amps. Then just record the amps as you normally would. If you only have one amp, you would have to put the stereo effect after the amp. So either after a loadbox on the way in, or if you are micing up you would have to reamp the recorded tone through the pedal. I think Bea puts them through the FX loops and then records the amps direct with load boxes.

Quick question. If you could only choose one, would u choose the UAD Golden, Strymon Big Sky, or the Source Audio Ventress? I want to upgrade my reverb from a TC Hall of Fame 2, but spending 400-500 on a pedal doesn’t allow my budget to try them all. I wish I could catch them all. 🥲
@chrisdavies91433 жыл бұрын
So I currently have a Big Sky and just got the Golden. I've not owned a Ventress but I did have a Collider once which has a lot of the same algorithms. As to your question it depends what you want. The Big Sky does the incredible, performance type reverbs that don't sound natural but are still incredible especially for ambient and soundscape stuff. The Golden doesn't do that stuff but it absolutely nails the more natural reverbs with an incredible clarity that I've only really heard in a Chase Bliss CXM (which I can't afford). The Big Sky does have Spring, Plate, Room and Hall and they're mostly usable but they just aren't on the same level, the Spring in particular isn't that good. So as I say I think it depends what you want it for, what type of music you hope to play. I don't see me replacing the Big Sky or Golden for many years.
@vladimirpavlovic94883 жыл бұрын
If you like ambient - Gfi Specular Tempus. Trust me :) a little less money than those, small size ,great algorithms and you get delay and mixed engines in there too!
@chrisdavies91433 жыл бұрын
I have also owned a Specular Tempus (my Reverb journey has taken in many destinations 😅) and there are some nice sounds in that, the Spatium, Tremble and until the Golden the best Plate 'verb I'd heard in a pedal but ultimately I felt there was more clarity in the Big Sky and I just preferred the tone plus I already have an Echosystem for my delays. I agree though, in terms of form factor, cost, footprint and the fact you get delays too, the Specular Tempus is a great pedal.
@orryfishburne53263 жыл бұрын
@Chris Davies and @Vladimir Pavlovic thanks for the insight and replies. I like playing more ambient styles, but i was also looking for a good natural sounding reverb as well to widen my tonal range. Ive always imagined the Big Sky to be able to nail it all, but thanks for letting me know otherwise. Im going to look into the Specular Tempus some more. Ive seen that pedal around, but ive never really looked into it. Im starting to think i should try to save up for both the Golden for natural reverbs and then another reverb for my ambient tones.
@user-zv7lm8uk7h Жыл бұрын
@@orryfishburne5326 I own all these reverbs, and it depends on what options you need. Ventris can do ANYTHING and sounds better than the Bigsky, much more clear. Golden can do the least of them all but sounds the best I guess. Golden is a bit weird, Ventris has a good pedigree of reverb makers from histroy who worked on it... it is really good.

@therangersinger3 жыл бұрын
I don't doubt the sound quality on these pedals is really good. But I see nothing special in these pedals. You can get more for less. They fell quite a bit short on these. No midi? Really? Common UA regardless of audio quality and processing power these are rehashed and dumbed down reincarnations of stuff that Strymon and Boss, let alone many others, have perfected over the last 10 years.
@Iron-and-strings2 жыл бұрын
It’s about quality audio vs quantity of features. As for me, I’ll take quality any day
@therangersinger2 жыл бұрын
@@Iron-and-strings we live in a day and age that the quality of an audio signal from a digital device can't actually get "better". The algorithms used to produce the particular characteristics of the reverb type are what is drawing you in. It's not that it any better. It's just newer. And honestly just because it does one thing great doesn't mean they couldn't have programed several other great reverbs into this pedal. And have presets recalled by midi. If you are set and forget kind of player I can easily see this being a go to reverb for some. But at that price it could have been designed with a bit more flexibility.
